I know this is an old comment, but I agree. I wish they would have explored more about the coupling and perhaps made them realize that brother/sister (even though not related) love was different from romantic love. The scene where Sang Sang and Nian Qui were fighting about her getting married was so explosive and I really thought the writers would go in the direction that they just couldn't think about growing up and eventually having to leave each other. It was so lazy making them a couple and then not them really event being a couple. Nothing changed after they "got together" so why did they even go in that direction. I feel like they could maybe explore it in Season 2 but they changed most of the actors and I couldn't get through 2 episodes so I don't know if they expanded on it.
Lol drops down to an 8.8 because people aren't familiar with typical xianxia endings. It would be nice with a bonus episode. It would be perfect if it had a Love and Redemption type of ending where we get 20 minutes of bliss, but I liked the ending. TTJ finally gained some control. His whole life was planned. No matter what he did, OG DG planned it. He wanted the world to be safe from him. There was only one way for the world that Susu loved would be safe and he took control.
The peace and relief on his face at the end was kind of healing in a way. Yeah, we don't get the exact novel ending, but it's an adaption, not a page by page reenactment. We're also getting a special episode. This drama deserves a solid 9. I'll die on that hill. Thank you Luo Yunxi and Bai Lu for bringing these characters to life.
Now that I've had a few hours to rage, I'm okay with the ending. TTJ seemed so peaceful. He finally found the peace he had been missing his entire life. He wasn't sad or looked to have any regrets. He looked so relieved and peaceful and it makes me cry all over again. He deserves to be worry free for the first time.
Now, let him cultivate in the scale and come back later lol

Can I just say that this has been the best Fandom during an airing? I've watched a lot of dramas while airing and hung out here on MDL, but this drama has produced the best interaction in my opinion! Thank you all for making these last few weeks so entertaining! We have laughed, cried, simped, yelled in anger, etc. Together! Y'all are my new besties! 😍😍😍

Because Runyu wasn't wrong about why the heaven realm was corrupt and needed new leaders. He just got a bit obsessed with winning against Xufeng about Jinmi. Also, he was ready to give up on her until Kunglao or whatever gassed him up about it.
