What's with all these 20/30mn dramas... Can't we get 60mn dramas for once?
It's because it's a common runtime for J-dramas, and it's applied for many genres of J dramas, even shows with large budget. They usually have 30-minute timeslot, so the drama actually runtime is usually 24 mins and 6 mins is for advertisements. Each show usually runs for a season (8-12 eps) and there are 4 seasons a year. Some channels have 1-hr timeslot but they're not very regular. It's a JUST A J DRAMAS thing, not necessarily BLs.
You never guess what this ordinary-looking cheesy love drama is about. This is a horror drama about the real power harassment camouflaged as romcom with power harassment theme. Please don't click its hashtag on twitter as you will be jumpscared .
DON’T CLICK THE HASHTAG. Lemme brief for you in simple terms🙇 This is a drama-in-a-drama. Drama 1 is an ordinary first love reunion drama. (You can only watch this version on Hulu). But Drama 1 is in Drama 2 - starring real cast as themselves. This is the public version on TV and TVer with visually disturbed images caused by the curse of Suganuma - the assistant director who was power-harassed and committed suic*de and p*assed away. He then cursed the release of Drama 1. Komiya and Yoshida double led in Drama 1 as Power harassment boss and the subordinate, and starred as themselves in Drama 2.
Drama 2 involves two parts: First 8 minutes is the making and cast&staff interview of Drama 1 and the last 40 minutes is Drama 1. To understand what happened in Drama 1 you have to watch the entire 48-min show as a whole and pay attention to details since start.
This drama takes a real-life approach. It's very interesting.
It's a mid show TO YOU! But i had a really good time with it and i felt at loss when it ended. It has it weak points, yes, especially in writing. I don't deny that. But it's a fun show to me and the actors are so cute and pretty. The way it was written makes us think they don't have chemistry but if you watch it again, their chemistry is always there, being subtle, because they started from strangers to friends and finally lovers. Their lover era was a boom of chemistry. I just love them purely. 💕 I hope both of them can have other opportunities to work together in the future because the actors are so close and good friends💕
I really enjoyed it no matter how questionable its writing is at times. I love all the casts, they are so cute and adorable, their acting heavy carries the show. Sakasoga makes me feel so warm and giggle about their dynamic. And I really enjoy the comedic vibe of the show with Kansai dialect,
This show is one of the shows that is "It's good if there's no one whispering to your ears that it's bad." This show is ofc not the best, but it's not bad either. Writing is definitely a minus point for it, I agree, bc it's kinda messy and the whole arc about the ex Mizuki was unneccesarily long and deep. However, the actors are just so adorable and so comfortable with each other. They are having a lot of fun of doing this show and their acting serves and saves the show. At first, we may doubt Sakae-Soga chemistry bc they start from strangers to friends, but ep 7 and 8 prove that their chemistry is always there, it is subtle, and waiting to burst. Soga is the most loveable character and nothing can make me hate Sakae-Soga. If you are just looking for a funsie show with good foods and handsome men with an unserious theme, and you are not that nitch-picking then it's a good choice tbh.
One more thing, the show has a very comedic Kansai vibe and word plays that are mostly lost in translation but if you are aware of it, it's a treat compared to usual shows that use standard Japanese. They also offer a Kansai-dialect course every week for extra funsies and knowledge.
Hirokuni's life is a reflect of some of us's lives, especially us grown-up adults : going to work, sleeping, waking up then going to work again like a vicious circle, at the expense of our personal life. I feel this drama so so deep as every single line of it just clicks so hard. Those who said it's a "boring, boring, frustrating viewing" ep or a "dull" office ep, you don't deserve JBLs and its diversity beauty. Please just leave and go for something of your own taste instead of standing her whining about them not making out 25 minutes straight. This is not made for you at all.
Soga-san and Sakae are just so cuteee. They make me giggle and laugh the whole time bc of how silly and cute they are. But they also make my heart warm bc of the way they cherish each other. They appreciate each other's differences and want to spend time together despite those differences. You can't just randomly find a new friend who goes to ask your acquaintances about what you like so that they can do it with you. Also, Soga praises Sakae's mediocre painting while Sakae tries learning about art. Then they both do sports tgt. This is so precious.
Those who think they do not have chemistry or Soga-san is not cute, are we even watching the same show? They are still friends at this point and you can't just expect them doing skinship. Mind you Soga-san alr lived in Osaka for 6 months and he has not got used to Osaka's life yet, let alone loving another man. Relationships, especially romance need time to build. They are getting closer and closer.
I purely love this one so much and to me it's a 10/10 show bc I don't think anything could be better done than this. 50 minutes of emotion roller coasters end beautifully with a warm wedding! If you have never watched this one, pls watch it right now. I myself watched more than 10 times and still sob every time !!
Anyone said there's no chemistry between Mizuki and Ryosuke, you just don't know what chemistry really is.
The director of this drama must be on sth when they filmed this one bc this cracked me up so bad 😂🤣 Same not-your-regular BL, I think this one is the reverse of Zettai BL where the main lead is a bartender but he is a fudanshi in secret😂 If you like Zettai BL and/ or you're a fudanshi/ fujoshi, you will like this one. I was cracking up so bad bc of how cringey and exaggerated it is but in a funny way.🤣 I think this one should have a season 2. All the characters are very cute and the fantasized stories are also interesting. I praised the main lead for his role. He is not only handsome, but he also has good acting and voice acting.
The idea is cute but the way it was executed is problematic
The idea of the movie is cute: Momose tried to encourage Yashiro to be confident in crossdressing. Yashiro is very lovely, I tried to finish the whole show bc of him. I believe with the same idea it could be done better. The way this idea was executed in this movie was very problematic. Maybe bc of writing, Momose looked like a manipulative freak, trying to make Yashiro do this do that, and excused by saying: "I don't know how to do it better". And one important thing: he did attempt r*pe Yashiro, this is unforgiveable. I guess the reason why people liked it back then bc it was in 2015 so people's viewpoints might be different than us now and they didn't have many choices at that time.
I had good time with this one. It's a roller coaster of emotions from cuteness, angst, then hotness and hilarity…
The highlight of the movie is when Souta took revenge for his sister being mistreated by her a-hole fiance. It was funny, but some people may consider it's a bit too much
I had good time with this one. It's a roller coaster of emotions from cuteness, angst, then hotness and hilarity at the end. Acting and chemistry are on point. I enjoyed the first few minutes of their domestic life the most. There's a misunderstanding which is the main story but they finally sorted it out. The bed scene is hot and natural.
Old-but gold-office BL has a quiet and sad ambience. 8.5/10
I'm always a fan of media that take a realistic approach into queer couple's relationship and this movie is made for me. This old-but gold-office BL has a quiet and sad ambience about how 2 people with their own past heal and learn to accept each other. It's kinda like a sadder and reserve version of Old Fashion Cupcake. Togawa is the boss who cares for his subordinates while Shima is the subordinate with a broken heart due to the past with his ex. He feels insecured and he hurts both himself and Togawa. But I'm glad finally they worked it out. I actually really like this one. The movie is a good adaptation considering its 5-day filming period with only $5 budget. The only problem i have with it is the camera angles, they wasted so many valueable scenes with those far and cornered angles.
An old but gold JBL movie The story is interesting. The actors' acting and chemistry is also very good. They are just so cute together. It's just so natural and ahead of their time. The plot twist is quite sad and it is easy to predict from our 2023 point of view but i think it's quite interesting back in that time with our own interpretation. This one is among rare old JBL movies that do not have problematic tropes or sad ending. I really had a good time with it. It's an old movie so the quality of image may be bad but it's worth our time and patience. Highly recommended
This is the continuation of Seven Days: Monday - Thursday. We should see both movies to get the full world view and also see morecute moments between Seryou and Yuzuru. The story is so cute, soft and pure. I love how the story goes and how they sort their problem. I also love the character dynamics and cast's chemistry. Overall: This is the show I would rewatch many time and would like to recommend others for such a JBL classic.
