A cute and pure classic school romance with slow pace
I keep gigling kicking my feet watching this school romcom. It's in 2015 so it has that typical slow pace style but I like its chilling vibe. I also love character dynamics: Seryou is so pretty and posh while Yuzuru is so cute and "dense". The story is so cute, soft and pure. It has two parts: Monday - Thursday and Friday-Sunday. You should watch in this order. They are both very good. I love how the story goes and how they sort their problem: just a little misunderstandings (and Yuzuru's sulking). It gives a very youthful vibe but pls bear in mind it's quite slow compared to modern BL so pls be patient. Plus point: You can see them doing art archery .
1. When Kouki suddenly turned his head to the van, he saw Angel sitting on that van.
2. At the scene where Angel asked Kouki about his life, the timeframe was years later, when Kouki already passed away, he reunited with Angel in heaven, Angel was still there waiting for him, but Angel was surprised bc Kouki passed a little bit sooner than Angel expected :))
This is a BL but rather than a regular romantic relationship, they got a beautiful platonic relationship where they cured and healed each other by spending quality time together. They are two broken people, who are victims of the cruelty of society. They found each other at their darkest phase in life and completed each other and achieved happiness. That's the meaning of the story, not the label some of you are trying to give them. Love comes in different forms, not just hugging, kissing and physical touches. And one more, Angel is underaged afterall, why do some of you expect an underaged child to make out with an adult as other BLs of the grown-ups?
Extra information: Kouki's name is 幸紀 . 幸 means Happiness. His dad gave him his name in the hope that he would have a lot of happiness. But as we know, happiness is what he didn't have. Angel's name is 高科天志 (Takashina Takashi) given by his dad 天志 means "aim for heaven", but actually Angel fell to the ground. Both of them actually didn't live up to the ambitions their parent put in their names. But in the end, bc they found each other, they both achieve those ambitions - Kouki found happiness and Angel was able to fly to heaven.
Haru was about to confess but Aki didn't let him finish. However, they promised to stay together in any cases and drink plum wine every year. You don't just stay with your "bro" for the rest of your life, don't you? And they both agree to live together like that, doesn't sound like a proposal?
Btw there are other JBL shows you won't hear the so-called "I like you". What Did You Eat Yesterday, which is a very popular JBL, is a prime example. You are watching a JBL, which are usually very subtle bc even in real life, JP people do not say "I like you" that often.
What's more, you can't say it's a bromance when the producer declares clearly on their site: it's Food x BL.
The movie is a typical Japanese food BL. It's very subtle, lightweight and to our heart's content. Beside a lot of food, the movie captures stories of two college students with their struggles about living together, study and life. It’s a very soft and peaceful movie with just a little bit of angst. If you like What Did You Eat Yesterday or She loves to cook, She loves to eat, you will like this one because it takes a similar approach – telling slice of life stories on the dining table. You would hardly hear any confession, but their bonding is very strong. Let's all look forward to the sequel with more food and romance on the way!
I love how they captured the subtle humor between character interaction and dialogue that is found in manga. I…
Your concern is valid. And they actually adjusted the age of Angel and A-kun to highschool (16-17 yo) which is still ofc a big age gap but it's more appropriate than middle school.
Kouhei, who plays Segasaki, watched other BL shows for reference including My Beautiful Man (2021, 2023), Minato Shoji Coin Laundry (2022, 2023), Eternal Yesterday (2022), Ameiro Paradox (2022). He also went to learn from a real weather forecaster and did physical training for this role. He knew his homework and he did it excellently. Please continue to support him, Acchan and the drama because this drama was made with care and responsibility. Currently, it holds the record of the most view per week on GagaOOLala, which was previously held by My Beautiful Man. Please continue to support them. They deserve it!
They are not together for 3 years. Yoh just moved in since March or April, so basically they have just lived together…
Then you need to rewatch Ep 1, bc it's 3 years since the offer/ "the proposal", not 3 years since they started living together. It's confirmed by the original manga author. It is understandable if viewers may misunderstand bc Yoh is an unreliable narrator, he misses things here and there. When you rewatch, you will see it's also their first rainy season tgt.
If you all love this drama please raise the review. It doesn't deserve 7.8. It deserves more hype because they are such good actors and production team.
they were together for 3 years and never on a date 😭 the 3 bed sheets is sending me!! lol
They are not together for 3 years. Yoh just moved in since March or April, so basically they have just lived together for a few months. Both have a lot of work and well, and also at first Segasaki didn't know that there is such a miscommunication between them. He simply thinks they are both married and he enjoys being at home (and ofc segg) with Yoh, until at the end of ep 2, he realized Yoh needs more acts of love, and he is trying to make up.
Apart from some shaky camera shots making me a little dizzy earlier at the street food scenes, I kinda like their…
According to the Space held by the director and producer today, the shaky camera shots in this ep are ad-libs, it's not in the script. The two actors just naturally walked and ate together and the director decided to include that shot. It might look shaky and dizzy, but it feels natural, isn't it? It's like when we go out and our friends take video for us while walking. I hope with this info you might feel a little easier with it :>
BTW a lot of scenes in this ep are ad-libs. The actors are just so talented and comfortable with each other.
Ep 3 is so good. It's drama-original so both fans of orginal manga and non-fans can still enjoy this ep. They are very cute and fluffy. And ofc this ep is also hot as hell. Please don't miss it. Just 1 more hour on Gaga or sth.
This drama deserves a 9/10 for the acting, the chemistry, directing, writing and ofc music. It's is one of the best BL running now and it's so captivating that interactions around the show are so high. Everything is well-done, if not perfectly-made, including NSFW scenes (which is usually a meh for Tunku shower). Another point I want to point out is that it is not dragging and it's very straight to the point so there's a lot to see in an episode eventhough the source material is very short - bravo for the production team.
7.7 is a joke so if you'all have time, we could do this together - lift up the rating, because obiviously the show deserves better.
We can't blame the production because this work has an original source and the production team basically honored…
and they are doing it in Ep 2. Ep 2 gave a clearer view. and I agree, some people might have dropped it, but I hope the popularity of this show will make them think twice and give it another go because this show can't be missed.
The viewers are so divided here: people who think it's toxic and the ones who don't. I think both camps are right…
We can't blame the production because this work has an original source and the production team basically honored the source material. So the problem here is that the story is narrated from Yoh's POV and he is such an unreliable narrator. He misses details here and there. And in the source material, Yoh also realizes that he made a mistake by looking things from a persimisstic viewpoints so we could expect this development in mid eps in the drama.
And another thing, ofc this is kind of a hook, bc if every work starts with the same trope :I have a crush on him, and he likes me too, it ain't fun anymore right ;)) and well the JPese never fail to bring up weird but intriguing plots.
