I think that was just a mix-up on the writer's part. Most schools around the "world" wouldn’t allow this to happen. When my son was in elementary it was a list of individuals that you allowed to pick your kid up in the absence of you or your spouse. On some occasions the principal would call to verify it, although he was my BIL at the time, he did all of the kids this way. Sometimes writers get carried away with their plot and fantasy they ignore the very things that would frustrate us even if it's fiction.
If I'm being totally honest, I love the actors, chemistry, and suspense of the family tree. ...but the kids are the reason I really watch it. I said early on and I still have the same theory that they are twins or I just hope that they are. I'm just on 12... Happy viewing!

I know the writers are trying to show his greed but his character shows that he could possibly have a soft spot for his own child. I guess the difference is she's not from a rich family. I wish that was written better.

So many holes. I was rooting for this one. If YF has this supernatural connection to CZ, how does he not know she's getting visitors and is being tortured daily? He's a (drama) deity for goodness sake. Also, where does she (Dr’s assistant) go after waking CZ up in the ice prison? She starts the torturing process to wake her and then disappears. The next scene in that prison shows her hanging by hooks and it clearly shows three years have passed.
I wanted so much more to happen to MY instead of the physical hurt of her losing an arm and killing herself. Mental hurt and embarrassment is a different type of pain. She should have been left alive. I felt like it was a partial punishment. ...
