2025 has been great for quality dramas.I was just thinking how we have three dramas that are different enough…
This one sure proven to be like a breath of fresh air, different from various romance dramas. I like its theme, plot and choreography alot more in comparison than others. Its definitely underrated.
@Enigma05 "He’s got every right to know. 1) It’s happening to him not someone else; also his company was nearly in jeopardy. 2) Constant fake death can cause a lot of psychological harm (malicious or not). 3) He’s a scientist for lord’s sake; his curious brain wants answers, it’s like in their DNA. Plus when it’s his eyes, emotions, etc being played with and dragged out for this long, it’s not funny anymore. Not saying it’s bad but it’s more in the realm of sci-fi than comedy. Forget romance; that’s probably going to happen in the last 5 episodes. I am looking forward to him figuring it out and confronting her; she deserves whatever comes her way. Whoever that old lady was that gave her the bracelet in the first place knew it would cause a lot of problems before there was any hope of something good. I’m guessing she was a witch of some sort. Anyways, let’s see him being the smarty pants that he is and figuring this out. Otherwise, I like the cinematography especially the B&W vs color back and forth; rarely seen."
@Wanning94 "Well, its cruel to make someone think, that something's wrong with them. I'm not blaming her, but everyone has limit, so have Tang qi. He definitely have right to know truth too. He still blames himself for something he wasn't at fault for, while questioning his own sanity. Its not about genders. It's actually about feelings being hurt. People genuinely feels bad for him. Its understandable. Its not fun, being made a fool."
Fairly, his reaction on her deceptions being exposed are justifiable. She deserve the consequences but luckily for her, Tang Qi is different from her. He's quite straight forward, mature & understanding, hence, forgives her easily.
So glad, we got 2 episodes to watch today. I understand her at first but definitely not gonna advocate for her behaviours afterwards. A 'sorry' would not change, whatever damage her naive self did, escalated his eyes conditions, traumatized him with 2 fake deaths etc. Upon that she & ly even feels prideful for it. No matter the gender, its wrong to make fun of someone's feelings and emotions, making him think that something wrong with him. Even he isn't perfect but Tang qi is much better than her. I know, he will forgive her easily after know truth. He's such an absolute gem of a man and "Filter" is definitely one of the most 'underrated wonderful drama'.💯
Seriously, majority of national & international viewers are enjoying watching 'Filter', while haters shamelessly downrating it, proving facts that haters, fake accounts, water armies, etc. are sabotaging it. Karma is a bitch, will bite their favorite hard, soon forever.
The alpaca was sooo cute and fluffy jst like moqiu. 🫠 Had the urge to hug them and pet them both so bad(though…
Someone did mentions of being jealous of alpaca. 🧐 Now I understand why. Tan jianci is adorably so handsome. I want to be that alpaca around him so much.❤🥺
That statue & river scenes are what peak comedy looks like exactly. LMAO! Loving the chaos around as SCC plays hide & seek while TQ in confusion getting bumped here & there.
I dont agree on your comment on Jing : he married someone else because he thought she was pregnant from him !…
See, that kid is his reason to marry FFYY on excuse of 'Filial piety'. Tushan Jing is a silver spooned rich grown up man. He neither has burdens of an Emperor, nor of a General, but still he fails to be responsible clan leader, fails to solve his family problems, make XY respected wife, also didn't let her be Queen. No offense, but I'm baffled how Jing thinks, he knows better for XY, considering he failed to solve his problems, got XY on efforts, sacrifices of other lead. No wonder, even FengLong said to be suitable, ideal partner in real life than Jing, for this, YZ, other leads, director, even author was harassed by Dw studio & Jing fans https://x.com/AicheMoral12450/status/1804849087092576572 continuously. Its main reason, season 2 ended in rush.
An important thing highlighted throughout story is 'Lovers Bug' [*Spoiler*] a refined bug that can be only shared between lovers. If lovers don't have same feelings, it will turn into 'Heartbreak bug', killing them. Author made it quite clear, as we noticed, XY died by enemy attack & poison but she & Xiangliu never died cause of this bug, proving fact, they honestly loved each other and never stopped. Fortunately production kept this fact originally same as novel in drama.
Its not a story where female lead ends up with a 'knight in shining armour', worthy strong man but cause of traumas & issues she endsup with weak, insecure, selfish man Tushan jing, [*Spoiler*] broke his promises & her trust, married someone else on excuse of 'filial piety'. Even abandoned his kid, clan, its responsibilities. So, it doesn't matter who XY ends up with. As broken woman, she gets Jing, a failed lover, husband & father. Author never certified story as happy ending. Its title & epilogue mainly refers to strong characters of XiaoYao, Xiang Liu and CangXuan. Novel is heavy on theme of yearning for lost love. Author herself prefers title, 'Eternally Yearning for You'.
Exactly. Its title is a major spoiler for viewers as what to expect from story. As author said, ending represents…
Right. No matter how rich (in end he even abandoned his clan responsibilities & his kid), an insecure clingy, useless mopey man with false promises, definitely isn't suitable choice for reality.
" ends up with a flawed man, Jing, perfect in sense of 'nothing'." A flawed man is still a man, but I didn't manage…
Indeed. His character doesn't hold much charm, compared to other main leads, who are hardworking & strong. Behaving pitifully, clinging to her, Jing remains mopey throughout whole story. Infact, his influence even made XY looks weak & regressed.
Though hastily, season 2 ended bitterly true to its title... 'Zhang Xiang Si' aka 'Lost You Forever'.
Xiaoyao once said that only 2 types of man can get her. 1st who is everything and 2nd who is nothing. Somehow fate gave her a life lesson, that she can't get everything in life as she want. Her naive self did lost her 'everything' Xiangliu and ends up with a flawed man, Jing, perfect in sense of 'nothing'. She has abandoning issues but ironically she got a man with empty promises, good at abandoning anything on mere excuses. Its understandable why author never certified story as happy ending.
Shen Yi is kind of like a cute fluffy cat, eats candy, roam around freely in search of truth. Its so soothing to watch. Its understandable, why Du cheng get jealous when someone try to take his cat, I mean Shen Yi away from him. Better keep their paws of his partner. Hope, we can have season 3 soon.
Living upto the expectations set by its prequel, Under the Skin 2 was phenomenal in its own way. Various datas proved, season 2 ultimately a successful series. Its disappointing, how some people (we can't say how genuine they are) using excuses, to mock drama for being good, and an actor for portraying his character thoroughly amazing, especially 'Core' character on whom, whole story revolves around. As said, with popularity comes some risk too. According to Weibo & Bilibili reports, TJC was cyberbullied, got threatening messages after season 1 success. It wasn't easy for him but he kept working hard and gave us many memorable performances. Praised by many critics & directors, he is one of the professional, beautiful versatile-talented artist, whose skills has been honed after years of his hardwork. He deserves better. Under the Skin is a wonderful detective series. Absolutely looking forward to see Season 3 with original cast & crew soon.

I enjoyed both seasons very much. Excited for season 3.
