don't watch then LOL. Imagine being so entitled to think other people should give up their job cuz of your opinion. he's more than competent to take on main character roles. Also, don't know what you consider as "idol" drama. if you watched any other of his works you will know that he doesnt take roles where romance is the main focus of the character. most his dramas are more focused on plot. even in journey to love the main story is not about chasing love or whatever love story that u see in "idol" dramas

it's just the trend lately. sometimes it's not even the scriptwriter or director that decides. but the investors. they find some genre/plot become popular so they want to hop on that trend. lately, it's the sacrifice for mankind/country trend and fanning patriotism is always a plus point in the eyes of Chinese audience.
