And about his going back to Tushang family, it's true he had family bond and affairs but and protect those qing qiu clinic and to get near to her when she became princess. She came near him for aiding Cang Xuan mainly. Her feelings are genuine and she would accepted him as YSQ. But then he won't be able to aid her or become her equal. And him being taking out his connection including his friend Feng Long family to support CX...and other stuffs....he's also risking his entire clan. What if CX did not get to throne? It's all in season 1. It's ok if you think it's stupidity and not sacrifice. But yep at least you point out characters are not flawless. That is good.

Engagement is just " a title"..Jing had to deal with (break off)...I don't think Jing care about this "society title" because of he and ffyy just dont care about each other , in which he enjoy his time with XY. XY is the same too.

He is only briefly married by misunderstanding dear comparing to how he stay by XY most of the time throughout the story. Using the word "Entire" will be wrong. And its not toxic most of the time. More like a home to each other despite whatever title/status is playing. I don't think XY care about this FFYY, she had reasons to get near to Jing but feelings are genuine. (He had to become TSJ again for XY sake..her princess status) While XL did sacrifice for XY (because he could), but could not sacrifice everything for love which make sense and realistic though. There's nothing toxic about the man who live for love getting what he want in the end.
