funny enough, i am not the usual bromance fan lol.
but i did like winter begonia though the pace is um. it was beautiful drama.
Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty (2022) - this one is good if you like the detective and opposite personality of both ML. it is nice chemistry IMO.
Under the Skin (2022) - disclaimer, i didnt watch because of TJC. I geniunely like the topic. the developement of the two ML's relationship is good too.
- the only warning i have on this is, one of the case might be trigger. because it mentions a sensitive topic that starts with "r".
Wu Xin: The Monster Killer (2015) - it's not tagged as bromance, it has some that was nice to watch. think of it as like watching Goblin but less focus. it also have some balance of humor that might remind you of MLC.
omg first wuxia! I wasn't sure should I recommend my friend to watch this as first wuxia.how do you like it so…
I would've recommended my friend to watch a classic wuxia, and then watch MLC. Normally, wuxia focus on revenge and trying to be top martial artist. MLC has a different moral. So that makes MLC more special!
MLC is still definitely more classic wuxia, but with better camerawork and good fighting choreography. if you enjoyed Cheng Yi's fighting scenes, which didn't have stand-ins - I think finding another wuxia with his level of sword fight is going to be tough!
The screenwriter for this is same as "love and redemption". So if you liked the MLC story and pacing, check that one out though it's actually wuxia/xianxia.
Classic like Condor Heroes '83 really best represent wuxia. But probably 2017 version is easier on eyes. I don't know is it too much of classic?
For something more modern, "The Long Ballad" and "The Wolf" have some of that classic wuxia vibe.
