MDL never rates shows well, they shouldn't even bother with the rating at all.
We are not talking about the show rating, we are referring to age content rating. This show is R18+ on IQIYI but rated Teen 13+ here which is not accurate
It’s rated R18+ on iQIYI’s original platform for this series. MDL monitors hundreds of thousands of shows…
Your entire argument collapses the moment you compare MDL’s age ratings to telling people to sit still in a burning building. That’s an absolutely false and exaggerated analogy.
A fan site listing a general age rating is not life-or-death information, it’s not “safeguarding law,” and it’s not something that determines whether a child watches a show. It’s guidance, nothing more.
And if warnings and labels truly prevented behaviour, the world wouldn’t look the way it does: • Cigarettes have massive cancer warnings, and people still smoke. • Alcohol has age limits and health warnings, and teenagers still drink. • Every streaming platform has its own rating system, and kids still find ways to watch what they want.
So pretending that MDL listing an age rating is some critical “safeguarding negligence” is unrealistic. The responsibility ultimately lies with the platform showing the drama (Netflix, iQIYI, etc.) and with the viewers or parents, not a fan site that simply aggregates info.
Your fire-exit analogy doesn’t hold up because no one is telling viewers to ignore danger or stay in harm’s way. MDL isn’t giving instructions that could physically hurt anyone. It’s simply listing information that can differ between countries and streaming services.
Comparing a mismatched rating to “people dying in a fire” is not only extreme, it makes your argument weaker, not stronger.
It’s rated R18+ on iQIYI’s original platform for this series. MDL monitors hundreds of thousands of shows…
I never said you personally were encouraging illegal streaming. I was speaking in general about viewers who choose to use illegal sites. That was not directed at you at all. And while I do not have children of my own, I do have nieces and nephews, so I understand the importance of protecting minors. But that still does not change the fact that the responsibility lies with parents, guardians and the official streaming platforms, not a fan-run database.
MDL is not a streaming service and it is not an official rating authority. It is a fan-curated platform with user-submitted information. Expecting MDL to function like the official bodies that assign PG, M, MA or R+ classifications is simply not realistic. They do not have the legal obligation, the authority or the infrastructure to update every show’s rating with perfect accuracy.
Official age ratings come from licensed platforms like iQIYI, YouTube, GagaOOLala and Viki, Netlix not from MDL. When a show is released legally, those platforms display the correct classification. MDL showing a user-submitted rating does not make them legally responsible for safeguarding children. Sites like IMDb, Letterboxd and Rotten Tomatoes function the same way. They provide community data, not official parental controls.
Even if MDL removed all age ratings tomorrow, minors who watch through illegal streaming sites would still not be protected. Pirated platforms do not display PG, M, MA or R+ warnings and they do not care about age restrictions. Illegal sites are the reason children can access inappropriate content, not MDL.
And honestly, having a rating on MDL, even if it turns out to be inaccurate sometimes, is still better than having no rating at all. Removing all ratings would remove all guidance for parents and viewers.
As for the handbag example, the point still stands. If someone chooses to use a non-official source, they cannot blame a completely different platform for not protecting them. The official sources like iQIYI, YouTube, GagaOOLala and Viki clearly display the correct R18+ classification. That is where viewers should be checking for accurate ratings.
MDL is a community guide. It is not a regulatory agency, it is not a legal authority and it is not a streaming platform. Expecting them to uphold legal safeguarding standards is asking them to do a job that was never their responsibility in the first place.
Even if MDL did not exist, children would still access illegal sites, and those sites would not display any warnings to protect them while exposing them to harmful advertising and content. MDL cannot be blamed for choices made on illegal platforms.
It’s rated R18+ on iQIYI’s original platform for this series. MDL monitors hundreds of thousands of shows…
I don’t think it’s MDL’s responsibility to ensure every rating is perfectly accurate. MDL is a free, community-run platform, and the information there is meant to be a general guide only. It is not their job to verify or police the official classifications from studios or streaming services.
And in this case the show is officially rated R18+ on iQIYI. Viewers should rely on the official source for age classifications, not expect MDL to instantly update or manage every rating on behalf of every country and streaming service. That’s simply not realistic.
We also shouldn’t be encouraging illegal streaming. Actors, directors, editors, cameramen and the entire crew work extremely hard to create these shows. They deserve to be supported the proper way on licensed platforms. If younger viewers choose to watch on illegal sites where ratings aren’t shown, that is their choice, it is not MDL’s responsibility to protect people who intentionally bypass legal sources.
To put it into real life perspective: If someone buys a fake designer handbag from a street market and the stitching falls apart, you don’t blame the real designer brand. You blame the person who chose to shop illegally. The same applies here. If someone uses pirate sites that don’t show warnings or ratings, the blame is on the user and the pirate site, not on MDL.
Official platforms like iQIYI provide the correct R18+ rating. MDL is a fan community, not an official classification board.
And thank you for saying that you specialise in web development and wouldn’t mind helping, but realistically it’s impossible. MDL monitors thousands, if not millions, of shows across different countries, genres and platforms. There is no way for one person or even a small team of volunteers to manually maintain accurate ratings for every single title. The scale alone makes it unmanageable. That’s exactly why official ratings should be taken from licensed platforms like iQIYI, not from a community site that was never designed to act as an official regulator.

The tags clearly state Manipulative Significant Other, Manipulative Male Lead and Psychological Manipulation. If someone chooses to watch a show with those exact themes and then complains about them later, that’s on them, not the series. It’s like ordering spicy food and then getting upset because it’s spicy. If this genre isn’t your cup of tea, simply don’t watch it. Dropping multiple shows with similar themes and giving them all low scores doesn’t make the series bad, it just means it isn’t for you. And please think about the entire team behind this project. Hundreds of staff, crew members and hardworking actors put their blood, sweat and tears into bringing this story to life. Thailand is extremely hot and yet these actors filmed in full suits, pushing through tough conditions so viewers could enjoy the final product. To say the drama isn’t worth it dismisses all of their effort. Thousands of viewers are loving this series. If you don’t like it, just move on instead of spreading unnecessary negativity.
Content Rating: 13+ - Teens 13 or older hmmmmmmmmmmm maybe this needs updating to 18+ lol
It’s rated R18+ on iQIYI’s original platform for this series. MDL monitors hundreds of thousands of shows every day, so their rating system isn’t always accurate. This one is definitely R18+, which is why I don’t fully trust MDL when it comes to ratings.
What happened in episode 5 I haven't seen any drama do. I am totally hooked with this one and I agree with what…
Below is my review for episode 5
Can we pause for a moment and appreciate how incredibly sweet episode six was. It felt like watching two people quietly slip into love without even realising it was happening. FanXiao waited for ShuLang to finish work and pick him up. They held hands as they walked down the street, looking like a couple who had already chosen each other long before either of them said the words. There was something so gentle and tender in the way they moved together.
During the painting session, FanXiao admitted he might lose everything. The fear in his voice was so raw. But ShuLang looked at him and said that he would not lose everything because he would still have him. He promised that if that day ever came, he would look after him. The way he said it felt like a vow. If that is not love then what is.
FanXiao changed the house lock, replaced all the photos with their couple photos and stepped into the kitchen to cook. He did everything that someone does when they quietly start imagining a future. They were already living like a real couple and it was beautiful.
When FanXiao accidentally spilled oil on himself, ShuLang immediately rushed over, kissed his hand gently and whispered that he had missed him. Their soft kitchen kiss after that felt so full of warmth. FanXiao saying he wanted to eat him first made the whole scene even sweeter. At the dining table, while holding hands, ShuLang called FanXiao babe and told him not to be jealous. It was so intimate and natural that all I could think was that they should just get married already.
Then came the scene that completely broke me. ShuLang took FanXiao to his mother’s grave and said he had finally found the one. Man or woman it did not matter because he had found his soulmate, someone who treated him well and made him feel cherished. FanXiao stood there frozen, nervous and shaken, because at the beginning his intentions were never serious. He only wanted to play around without realising how deeply ShuLang loved him. Watching ShuLang shed tears in front of his mother’s grave because of him was heartbreaking. That moment alone felt like the emotional centre of the entire story.
I keep hoping the plot will truly reflect the line that says FanXiao tries to entice ShuLang into a relationship only to fall for him for real. Because that is exactly what it feels like right now. And just like in Revenged Love, if ShuLang ever learns the truth, I know they will be torn apart for a while. But they love each other too deeply to stay separated. They would always find their way back because life without each other would be unbearable.
You just put me on to Thundercloud Rainstorm & To My Shore. I don't know how i didn't find these!! now im…
I can see you loved both Revenged Love and ABO Desire, so you’ll definitely love To My Shore. Thanks for accepting my friend request. After you finish episode 5, please PM me, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
To teach him a lesson. Being gay isn’t a choice, you’re born that way. The fact that ShuLang’s brother blamed…
That was my own reaction and words, not FanXiao’s. I’m gay myself, and we don’t get to choose our sexuality. That scene really hit me, and honestly, a small burn on his hand felt like nothing. If I were there, I would’ve literally punched the brother.
To teach him a lesson. Being gay isn’t a choice, you’re born that way. The fact that ShuLang’s brother blamed him for being gay and for their mother’s death didn’t just anger FanXiao, it boiled us viewers too.
To be honest, that was a light punishment. It was just a small burn on his hand so he knows what FanXiao is capable of. In ABO Desire, HuaYong literally destroyed his brother’s hand for ruining the painting of his lover.

So Nene is Than’s niece, and Marvin is Akin’s son? Does anyone know if Marvin is his biological or adopted child? Since Akin and Than were in a relationship, I’m curious whether he had a child with a woman after they broke up. And where is Marvin’s mother is she not in the picture? I’m also dying to know why Akin left without saying a word to Than.
What an incredible first episode. The ex to lovers storyline hits so much harder here, especially with the two cutie kids, Nene and Marvin bringing warmth and innocence into every scene. Than and Akin’s pain feels real, their chemistry is intense, and the flashbacks make everything even more heartbreaking. Peter and Golf are amazing, and that early NC scene was so raw and realistic. Emotional, mature and beautifully shot this is going to be a powerful journey.
this series is like a commercial for condoms the first few minutes :-)
I think the condoms were included to promote safe-sex awareness. Since the brand on the box or the packets wasn’t visible, it didn’t come across as product advertising at all.
Wow, the four boys only met four months ago, yet their bond feels like a friendship built over years. Genuine connections like this are so rare, and watching them together feels so real.
I love the flashback showing how Watarai started liking Hioki, how everything quietly began. It wasn’t just some random crush. Being popular isn’t always a blessing, and it was Hioki’s small gestures and simple words that pulled Watarai in. After watching episode seven, everything makes sense and connects beautifully back to episode one.
Only three episodes left. I’m already feeling sad. I’m really going to miss this show. It’s become my little Sunday comfort, something I look forward to every week.
It could have been a perfect ending, if Pheem stayed dead.
Really? Than has already been through so much. Imagine finally getting married and then becoming a widower the next day. The pain would completely destroy him.
Pheem might seem like a red flag but he’s that way because of everything he endured, fighting for revenge for his mother and growing up without love from his father or siblings. He became who he is because of all that hurt.
And in the end, he let all of that go. He walked away from inheriting the billionaire hospital because, standing at his mother’s grave, he admitted that having everything means nothing when he’s still alone. Than is the one he truly needed. He even left all his assets to Than and was willing to change his name and have nothing just to be with him.
For me, someone who chooses love over power, family over wealth, and healing over hatred doesn’t deserve death. If he died, Than would suffer for the rest of his life. That’s why the ending was perfect. If Pheem had actually died, it wouldn’t have been a good ending at all.
What a steamy week this has been. First Thundercloud Rainstorm set the bar, then To My Shore came in with even more heat, and I truly thought it could not get any better. But Interminable proved me completely wrong. The NC scene in episode four was on another level. It felt real, intimate, and unbelievably erotic. The chemistry between them was so natural that it blurred the line between acting and reality.
I thought BillyBabe in The Sign had already given us one of the hottest intimate moments in BL, and I honestly believed nothing could top it. Interminable shattered that belief in seconds. That scene was breathtaking. The way they touched each other, the way their bodies moved in sync, the heavy breathing, the lingering gazes, the softness mixed with raw desire. It felt less like a performance and more like two people who genuinely could not keep their hands off each other.
There was passion in every kiss, fire in every breath, and a tenderness that made the heat even stronger. It had the intensity of real lovers completely lost in each other’s bodies. It is the kind of scene that leaves you speechless, flushed, and a little ruined for anything that comes after.
Let’s all ask MDL to remove rating, see if that will make a difference.
