From what I got, in the novel Shang Gu and Bai Jue were actually both true born gods that were created at the same time. It was Tian Qi that came later? And Gu Jun and Wu Huan were also true born gods? Then Gu Jun and Wu Huan took Houchi's egg and left for the immortal realm and Bai Jue just disappeared. Were Shang Gu and Bai Jue together in the god realm?

I had a feeling. I've read the first chapter and got the impression it actually starts off right with Houchi's life?

Anyone here read the the book? I have some questions about some potential differences.

This is why, sometimes, its better not to make those kind of changes to the story or add those kind of storylines. Because they just sort of fell away instead of being addressed. I would've liked them having another 2-3 episodes and seen how it was addressed not only at work, but also seen her tell ZLR what happened and how he responded. I would've liked to see him grow his relationship with his brother. But honestly, even with their 'change of heart' I still don't like his parents enough to care about them.

Also, in the drama (episode 22-23.. I think), he tells his coworkers he is the clingy one, but its not really shown that he is. But in the book, while he was back in his home town for school, every time he had more than a 2 day break for school, he would immediately leave class and jump on bus to stay with his uncle (without his parents permission). Just to see SZZ, because even at 17, the idea of going months without seeing her, was already unbearable to him.

I think ZLR needed someone who had unwavering faith in him and was willing to reach out to him, to help him see himself better and help him step into his own light and find happiness. He'd lived most of his life thinking he was nothing because he wasn't a genius, like his brother, that he needed someone that thought the world of him. He also is quiet person, who loves quietly but fiercely. Someone like Jiang Jia who is loud (yes so it SZZ), but also loves competitiveness and arguing, would not only not have the patience for ZLR but probably would find him boring.

I think I finally figured out what it is I love about the main couple. Throughout the entire series, not once does he ever say anything like 'Can you just act a little normal for a minute.'...instead there is a scene in episode 20 where you just know in his mind he is thinking 'Yep....my gf is absolutely crazy, and I'm so in love with her that I don't even care so I'm just gonna roll with it.'

Speaking up to a peer is different than speaking up to a client when your job might be on the line. Also its easier to speak up against someone you don't like, then it is to speak up to someone who is sexually harassing you that previously didn't give you a reason to dislike them. I think they also didn't focus too much on the way the dynamic changed with his family, because in the book his parents only got worse and eventually both he and his brother not only went no contact with their parents, but Luli left the country to study aboard and told ZLR he was never coming back to China.

Rewatching....currently on episode 18....I 100% believe that if SZZ hadn't made it into the university he wanted to go to, he would've followed her to whatever university she chose.

I did, but it seemed the movie was going in a different direction.

Been rewatching this, and I feel bad for DJX in episode 7-8. For the two years they didn't see each other, he had no idea why she stopped talking to him and probably thought he had done something wrong. Because even though, he didn't have romantic feelings for her yet, he still cared about her a lot and she was important to him....you even see him smiling at her as she leaves to board the plane, having no clue that she is saying goodbye to him.

The song with the 6 singers and one narrator is what she was originally brought to the studio to record, before it was recommended that she and QQC record 'Return with You' together also. Return with You, and the song she originally came to record, are not the same songs. They recorded both. I know we heard Return With You, but I don't remember hearing the other one.

No. Nothing is ever said in the books that hint they are anything more than cosplay partners. Their role in the book is actually quite small.
