I really wish we would've gotten some scenes where XL talks to JSC about what is happening to her at work with her coworker, so we could've gotten his reaction to all of it. I would've even liked it if we saw him get the phone call about her locked in the cooler. Or a scene of her telling him the truth about what happened with that first article she wrote about the fire department.
I read the book, and the romance is a lot more...adult. I think they just tried to tone it down for TV.
If your interested in knowing some of the main differences. I did a bullet list in the related recent discussions. I understand why some things were changed to give a more family friendly related, but I agree it wasn't necessary to change so much of it. My only thinking is that they may have been worried about how similar it was to FoMH.
I really think it bothered him to realize she was the girl from ten years ago. I think he already had strong feelings for her at that point and when he learned who she was, he felt that it meant her feelings couldn’t be genuine.
I'm rewatching this again. I think I pinpointed the moment he started to have feelings for her. It was the chicken scene. I wish there was fanfiction of this show though.
I always assumed they were sharing the bed. They've been dating for years by that point, and have sex the day…
That's what I assume too, but they originally planned otherwise I think? Or maybe the bed in the livingroom is just for show for when the parents show up? LOL
Still its a weird tag....I only remember that one scene where the guy put his hand on her thigh, but thats it. While certainly qualifying as harassment, I don't think it warrants a sexual violence rating.
One thing that always seemed weird to me....after they graduate from university and move in together... The place they move into has stairs to an upstairs, are we supposed to believe that SZ is sleeping on a mattress on the floor in the Livingroom while he is in a room upstairs OR are they only renting the downstairs and sharing the mattress on the floor? That scene always seemed odd to me. Like if there is only one bedroom and their sleeping separately, wouldn't curtesy dictate that he sleep in the Livingroom?
Rewatching HL again, and not DJ sending SY breakfast with a note to the delivery driver to make sure he wakes SY up because 'My boyfriend has health issues and its important that he gets this so he eats' after SY silenced his phone from DJ calling him to make sure he picked SZ up from the airport.....I just wish we'd gotten that scene. LOL!
