Its a wonderful drama so far I like that production tried their best to make the underwter scenes realstic and also kudos to Lusi for doing all the underwater scenes herself despite her waterphobia she overcame it learnt deep diving and did amazingly well in her fighting scenes underwater .
Coming onto the other characters Yan Zijing the morally grey ML with a sad and tragic backstory behind his revenge. At the same time the gentle kind yet firm and Ambitious Zhang Jingran sparks our heart with Kindness.
And then there is Cui Shijiu while we have only her wicked side revealed for now I do beleive there is a turning point for her and Duan Wu's relationship.
Coming onto the cinematography its gorgeous absolutely stunning and the beautiful bgm just adds to the cinematic experience.
Tha pacing, acting and dialogue delivery of most of the actors is also really good 👏 👏
Now this just a speculation with the information we have till now about the Yan family and Duan Wu's connection…
So they mentioned That Lady Eight (from the pearl farm) was a quite an important maid to the Yan Family's Lady (Yan Zijing Mother) hence the main connection between them.
The Blood pearl was given by Duan Wu's dad who is in the western regions when he sent of Lady Eight because the Yan Family was attacked and massacred by the Cui Family. And it was not safe for them to stay there
I don't think Duan Wu is his siter because It doesn't really feel like they share the same father tbh.
Also Cui Ding before his death that (Yan') his sister was there in another place I believe maybe there is an important plot related to his sister and thats why she was mentioned but I really dont think its Duan Wu.

I feel like every character hereis multifaceted complex and has deep layers to them whether its Duan Wu , Yan Zijing , even the very good and kind Zhang Jingran , the handsomely wicked lady and master Cui Shi Jiu cannot wait to see how their story progresses.
Also don't mind hate mongers so far soo good I am loving every single actor big or small ther roles might be they are good and their characters even Lala did so well its beautiful . Lets enjoy the drama in a healthy peaceful and kind atmosphere everyone !
I have no words for how good the first four episodes were , acting , cinematography , story pacing music , dialogue delivery so far has been really really good . And the intro the opening song the best the absolute I have ever seen so far its really good.

Content Warning ⚠️ :- Since its about a slave pearl diver girl's journey to her freedom and entrepreneurship. This is going to get really gritty , dark and nasty , there is going to be lots of physical and mental abuse depictions of the female slaves in general so please be careful while consuming this drama. Know that this isn't comfortable , easy or light drama. It does deal with very heavy content . Now onto the story of acting or cinematography we cannot make a final verdict of course but the trailers are giving insane plot acting and cinematography already. So far so good And the short snippet of Ost we heard for the first poster Duan Wu by Jane Zhang was beautiful. Hoping to get a sneak peak to their entire ost soon. So excited for this drama and her character as Duan Wu & Su Muzhe , many may not know but she learned deep diving for her pearl diving scenes for The Story Of Pearl Girl and she also went with no safety equipment's etc. to make her scenes even underwater fights realistic this is one of her most toughest and different role she has taken so please look forward to how she plays a slave pearl diver to the most successful business women in jewelry business during tang dynasty in this drama while helping her other fellow women grow strong in this field . At the same times meets friends and foes on this journey .
In this drama she is just like how a pearl is cultivated “cultivating a pearl actually takes up a long time... from grinding, remolding, " And this is exactly what we see Duan Wu going through to become Su Muzhe .
