Same I am not the type to continue with something drama, books or any art and media I consume and I finding myself unable to engage with it in a way that I like it's not about normal criticisms either . Every drama can have its good or bad etc. But if I can't get into it it's not worth spending my time on that.
If I genuinely have nothing I like in it , I don't have that much free time to waste watching something that doesn't hold much meaning to me.
Maybe others have different reasons , but to me that's unfathomable.
I just want someone to explain this to me why do some people force themselves to keep watching a drama they clearly…

ther are two main cps like of two sisters and their husbands not bad both are equally good pairs but for me in the series what I loved the most was the two sisters sisterhood it's really precious and touching.

a) This Songhe County is clearly an illusion I feel because in Ep 17 Zhang Suan and Fan Linger heard the people say that its a desolate and scary place now . so clearly something has happened there and that happened when Hua Ruyue's powers where sealed .
b) I feel for many reasons whats happening in the 10yrs withing this mortal realm is part of HRY's plan to make BJS feel what she went through back then just that he isn't alone facing that pain. The pain of losing a partner , losing a child being witch hunted I think whatever happened to her she will slowly make it happen in that mortal realm where BJS is now seeing and feeling all those mortal emotions.
c) That cultivator who told him the story of a woman losing her husband and bb etc felt way too similar to HRY also he is very sus bit this where I was kind of confused the dark spirits that was killing and draining the peoples life in Songhe County is that part of her plan too. like maybe something similar happened back then and she was pinned as a witch because she was discovered to be having some powers before and that spread like rumours.
So like I am at a conclusion that all that's happening in the this mortal realm of Songhe County is within her plan too. Like it doesn't feel like she ever stopped the revenge she wanted to take at any point.
But it's also like I feel there is someone else scheming to keep them apart and hence had a hand in their suffering?.
Do you guys think the same ? Like she is still taking her revenge all this is within her plan yet something feel so off about the whole situation like its really not that simple .
We will get to see both of their pov but i think there is more to their misunderstanding as if there is someone…
I agree there is something fishy like as if people where orchestrating alittle to break them apart or keep them away from each . Its not just simple plain grievances I feel some "Emperyeans" couldn't sit still due to how powerful these two were together.
Honestly want to shake hands with the scriptwriter what a beautiful script especially for a Xianxia it's been years since I felt this refreshed , challenging my thinking and also satisfied while watching a xianxia drama.
There is so much beauty in how many beliefs and philosophies are being shown and make us viewers think from each and evey perspective, the whose right or wrong , why , or why not etc The deep discussions that this drama has brought is genuinely so enjoyable.
And I think I will be seated for this writers next dramas too .

Agree , especially the part where he decides what punishment she should go through instead of letting her face the consequences directly which to be honest actually feels like a better outcome .

yes I did mention it in my comment below where I wrote a pretty long essay 😅 , and while I was watching too I thought of it she knew her actions had consequences ,so instead of both of them communicating and thinking of a way together he took the agency of the choice of how to face the consequences of her actions away from her and unilaterally decided his way was the way to go which ensued the pain and misery thereafter.

Ashes of Love is HE xianxia but yeah its a pretty long drama.
if you want bloody angsty dogblooded suffering type plot then
the Classic Ten Miles Of Peach Blossom Cdrama would be perfect it's a little long though.
Love And Destiny starring Nini is also good.
