I am rewatching episode 5 and smiling all over again at Jiling's overload cuteness.
He was so cheerful, pure and honest that he did not mind being called Woodenhead (although Wu Shiguang meant it for Lu Wuyi).
Jiling would always be so in love with his A Wu. His memory of her was erased by Lu Wuyi with a spell and yet upon seeing her again, the affection bloomed right away.

Jiling might have lost his naivety after enduring pains for so long but his love for her never faded away.
In episode 29, the way he looked at the 'new born' Wuyi made me have butterflies.
His loving gaze spoke much greater affection than any poetic words of love could deliver.

I knew and liked Tian Jiarui for his excellent character execution in 2 wuxia/fantasy dramas.
In VOS, he showed that he excelled in romance too.
Such a talented actor, Tian Jiarui 💕

WWY's memory of Su Jian was altered by Jiuying and made as her memory with Lu Wuyi instead.

The best ending! It even excelled what I had in mind, an OE kind of GJM's drama 💕
Jiling had finally decided to be 'selfish' and thought about his beloved and himself first. A kind & great man who shouldered and suffered from the heavy burden for over a hundred years, so people would not be living in fear and the 10th dragon could reclaim his throne back when he was ready for it.
Jiling chose to be in a world with just the new created Lu Wuyi (without the oracle stone), away from everyone else, to live the way he had always wanted to, and they both totally deserved his chosen life.
A dream life came true.
Ju Jingyi and Tian Jiarui's character portrayals were absolutely flawless they made JiLu's love story so convincingly heart breaking, swoon worthy and definitely worth watching & rewatching.

GJM got the chemistry well written & covered in MJTY but it lacked the fulfilling romance. This time, he got it right. Perfect.
Outstanding cinematography, breathtaking fighting scenes, well written plots and plot-twists & the romancing romance with insane chemistry.
Veil of Shadows in on another level.
A masterpiece no one should miss out.

Only Lu Wuyi smelled his scent right after she was in close proximity with Jiling.
Yuan Wuhuo was obsessive and his every mission was to protect Jiling but he could only smell his scent when he was dying and sad (for unable to protect him again).
Bai Ze likely knew it because he knew it all, including the lonescale story.
LWY was always special, the most precious one for Jiling.
Ji Can was right. The others died while fighting to keep Jiling safe or from old age (loyalty) while Wuyi would just sever her spiritual tail and exhaust her demonic energy so she could give hope to him (love)
