For me, he is a good writer. Even with such an awful ending (with a 'never see the light' season 2) for MJTY, he still managed to make the drama be loved by so many (me included).
What fascinates me about Edward Guo's writing & directing is that he created a detailed outline, with plots and plot-twists and delivered them with beautiful cinematography.
The rewinds world arc has crazy details, definitely written to produce great devastating love story. Beautifully heart breaking scenes, with every rewind Lu Wuyi relived. Ji Can started the rewinds with Lu Wuyi waking up to the luminous cicada, to Jiling missing her. It was a cruel reminder, for out there, he was no longer able to miss her. It was also a necessary reminder, that he was breathing now and she had a chance to keep him that way, at whatever cost. And mixing the OSTs sung by the actors playing the characters involved in the arc truly completed the already outstanding scene. Episode 23 is a masterpiece!

There is no changes in calendar from the drama official page, or Ju Jingyi and other castline. Youku can be generous from time to time by giving extra episode, but not after they announce the express. VOS express package is on Friday, 17 April. Netflix has scheduled 2 episodes on Friday, following the VIP schedule, so only Youku will air the extra 3 episodes.
