I really like how FL is depicted in this drama. Yining is smart, and always smart, even when she acts on impulse. The result of her actions may not be as she wants it to be but for her, it is always better to do something rather than quietly watching. She shook Shenyuan from his resolution to never bother the Luo, who got problem after problem and just focused on his revenge. Yining being smart and perceptive made Shenyuan feeling comfortable and warm, then falling in love.
This drama FL is consistently smart. It always annoys me when a smart FL turns dumb and is going against the ML after just hearing a person talking bad about him, running away in jealousy and worse, cutting him lose or making him the bad person. Shenyuan had double lives and kept secrets from her but when she found out about that, she tried to know why first then deciding from that. I also love it that Yining is not that 'kind' FL who would agree to help her competitor in love just because no one knows about her and Shenyuan's relationship.
FL and ML are both well written, and better, since even though this drama has slow burn love, it is not dragging and the transitions from siblings to lovers, for both Shenyuan and later Yining, feel natural and not rushed.
