For me, this is indeed Cheng Lei's best drama. He showed off his acting prowess in this drama, more than in his previous dramas. The melancholy, the innocent look, the desperation, the tyrant, the cunning scheming emperor and the protective lover.
But if you don't feel excited at ep 15, this drama might not be your cup of tea and you do not need to 'force' yourself to keep watching. A drama is not for all viewers and it is okay.

Finished all 5 episodes in one go and I like them all and cannot wait for more. The combo of wuxia, romance, angst and hopefully a HE (I can cry for many episodes as long as it is a HE) is so me. Zhou Yiran is so breathtaking in this drama. The effect upon seeing his visuals up-close, be it from Cai Zhao or the spoiled Lingbo is so relatable. I love it when the camera focused on Chang Ning's face and let his eyes be the story teller, without him needed to utter any words. The pain, the anger and how he wished for Cai Zhao to trust and be with him. Bao Shangen is naturally cute. She is always adorable no matter how silly the expression she delivers. She slayed the cute and smart Cai Zhao character flawless & effortlessly. The lead pairing is the perfect choice for the young couple in love and entangled in hate and revenge.
PS: The story is rather fast pace (except for the likely intentional dreamy scenes with ML & FL) with problems being dropped one after another and for those who are not familiar with wuxia, the many characters can be confusing. Rewatch, pause or slower view will help. Have fun watching!

It is on 22 February. It is only different because of the timezone. Indonesia is 1 hour early than China while US is about 12 hours later than us. I watch on Netflix so it airs at 5 PM here
