If we wanted to view Langhua through rose coloured glasses, (which is to say, her character having more depth than appears on the surface) her giving BFX a shoulder injury instead of chest in one move eliminated BFX from the sect and simultaneously gave her a better chance to survive.
But I think it likely we're not going to credit Langhua with that much complexity. π
PS ... where is the shoulder blade precisely... I need to go look that up.
I know some people like that Langhua girl, but I really dislike her from the beginning π€π€. Just because…
I kinda like her portrayal. I know it looks like she went from zero to 100 on suspecting BFX, but (a) being the leader's daughter gives her an obligation not to blindly trust and to consider treachery from every possible corner and (b) I think the viewer could see she was conflicted over it, and (c) it was more a shoulder wound than a chest wound ...typically shoulder wounds are ones that the heroes valiantly survive because the inflictor of the wound wants them too.
Or at least thats how it usually comes across to me.
Was she excessive in her suspicion of BFX? Sure. But hey, she's young. ;P
lol this director likes scenes feeding medicine mouth to mouth
It's like an obligatory cdrama trope. lotus candles releasing hot air balloons feeding medicine by mouth putting food in your loved one's plate ... There's many more I know that aren't coming straight to mind at the moment.
Should make a list, form a bingo square of it, then hand out bingo cards at the start of every new historical cdrama.
Stars up above ever so bright please bless The Ponytail's appearance tonight and to salve this poor woman's bereft eyestrain please speed The Ponytail's re-appearance once again
It's a new ost , called 'Dream come true' by Wang Sulong. link here:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VS0YPiQOy9k
Thanks for the link :) ..but that wasn't what I was thinking of.
Was thinking of those strains of music between 31:20-31:40 of ep 26. It's a musical theme that has been used a few times earlier this series for scenes of heightened tension. Went back to Fuyao to see if was actually the same, but nah, just fairly similar in the tension it conveys. In Fuyao an example what I'm thinking of is ep 10 19:20-19:30.
I finished today's episode releases just now. Mate I am absolutely loving the way this story is being told. The plotting, the pacing, the secrets, the style. It's the complete picture.
I can't believe they would have told it so well to this point, only to totally screw the story-telling up in the latter half.
That tense musical theme that plays when everyone is lifting that rock ... I wonder whether its a fairly common theme used because I swear I've heard it before.
But I think it likely we're not going to credit Langhua with that much complexity. π

Cdramas are fatally addicted to flashbacks.
/jk ;)
Just how disappointed am I with that scene! And now I have to agonizingly wait for that scene to arrive and put up with its passing. Urgh.
It's just spoiling the anticipation/tension of the ending from now on.
For instance:...
I'm not looking.
I'm not!
lotus candles
releasing hot air balloons
feeding medicine by mouth
putting food in your loved one's plate
...
There's many more I know that aren't coming straight to mind at the moment.

Looks like the stretch of the last 10 episodes indeed won't be yawn inducing!

Also missing, The Ponytail.

Nevermind. Were still good eps.
Am going to miss this one when it's gone.

Legend of Fu Yao maybe?
