Feels like it's made for the male gaze and doona's character is giving major ''woman written by a man'' vibes.…
Yes, I completely agree with you!! I actually never saw the webtoon it is based on, but the drama is very much like those webtoons made for male readers which have multiple hot women being all over the ML for no reason.
I don't know if this is how Yang Se Jong always acts but he is the same here as he was in "30 But 17". I wonder if what makes both his characters so boring and unappealing is the script or is it the way he acts. It's a shame because he is actually really good looking.
as someone who would tag this drama as boring, I would like to clarify that it wasnt because it was simple (and…
It's really funny; because for me I really enjoyed this drama but I was so bored with Makanai, I had to drop it. Maybe it all boils down to taste. :) (Although I do agree that in this drama some parts did got repetitive, but for me it didn't bother me that much and I enjoyed the chaos)
I've noticed that people often label simple and romantic dramas as "boring" these days. It's a bit sad how our…
I totaly agree with you. I'm very surprised for all the hate for this drama. Although some plot lines can be a bit lacking, the romance more than makes up for it.
I think, there can be 2 reasons for the hate: 1. This is a very romance focused drama; so all the other story lines are sub storylines and therefore they are not that well developed. I think, there is this general opinion that romance is not good as other genres; and anything with lots of romance gets lower rating and anything with little to no romance gets overrated. These people who look down on romance seem to want to see more of the mechanics of how the love potion works, how rearcanation works ets. rather than all the scenes just showing their relationship.
2. I've been watching Kdramas/asian dramas for more than 15 years now, I've been bored with the recent Kdramas but this is the first drama in a long time that I fell in love with. It gives me the same feelings of older Kdramas and I see this sentiment is shared with other old Kdrama fans who also loved this drama. This is a classic Kdrama. However, Kdramas have changed a lot to suit western taste in the recent years. I believe that people who hate this drama are the people who have only started watching Kdramas in recent years and who are more accustomed to western style shows.
For me this drama is the essence of Kdrama, the soul of Kdrama. And yes, with the changes in recent Kdramas, they now appeal to a broader audience and now there are a lot more people who "like" Kdramas now. But, we should not forget that it was dramas like this that made a relatively small but very passionate group of people fell absolutely in love with Kdramas and started Hallyu! In my opinion, while the general population might be meh about this drama, the original Kdrama fans know that it's the real deal.
I’ve been working on my reports since morning and suddenly a thought came to my mind. There will be no other…
Agreed!! I think he might be my favourite male lead. And for me also I loveeedd how he was when under love spell, all the "my legs won't move" stuff <3<3<3<3<3
I like Park Gyu Young. But the plot feels very basic and predictable. The FL is forced to go out with the ML due…
This is a romance drama, so of course they will end up in love with each other. Do you also watch action dramas and go "the lead character will fight but they won't die in the end, very predictable..."?
Me: This drama is so weirdAlso me: The hand wasn't a curse! It was a loving and comforting gesture and that's…
Yes!!! I think, it was also like the hand was showing up because of the guilt and pain he was feeling for what he did. Normally, for normal people when we do something that pain us greatly, we might remember it from time to time, sometimes till the day we die. But, for Shin Yoo the pain and guilt was so great that it continued to haunt his soul for many many years, even in his next life.
