Another thing I want to point out is that the writing in this drama is so good and consistant. I feel like the miscommunication between Hyunwoo and Haein kind of parallels miscommunication between Haein and her mother.
As they are mother and daughter they obviously love each other. I really believe Haein's mother loves her, we can see how jelaous she gets when Haein treats her mother-in-law well etc.. But somehow Haein and her mother keep saying things that they don't mean to each other and thinking the other doesn't like them. They urgently need to communicate with each other, but never do. They just ignore the issue between them and with the few words they say to each other when they have to see each other only makes them grow further apart.
Maybe because Haein was raised by such a mother she never learned how to communicate with others and it effects her relationship with Hyunwoo as well. She seem to treat Hyunwoo in a similar way to how she treats her mother; she doesn't show her feelings and instead she closes her heart and stays in the defense position because she is afraid the other doesn't like her. It is very sad, but it is also very realistic. She needs to solve her issue with her mother in order to be able to solve the issue between Hyunwoo and herself.
Today's episode epilogue complimented the ending so well. Haein sees Hyunwoo going "she likes me she likes me not" wondering if she likes him and saying that she loves her. And then the press conference scenes is Haein saying Hyunwoo that she loves him. She didn't want even her family to know about her illness, but to save Hyunwoo she declares her illness to the whole world. This is one the biggest and the best love declarations in the kdrama land!!
I just want to take a moment to praise Kim Soo Hyun's acting. He is like really really good in showing all the emotions. I shed tears while watching the following scenes:
1. Haein and Hyunwoo talking while eating icecream and Hyunwoo says he would have regretted not getting married to her. 2. Hyunwoo and his mother talking about Haein. 3. The very end of the epilogue.
And I realize these scenes were so effective emotionally because of how good KSH acts. He is a truly good actor.
And I also want to say I really love the character of Hyunwoo. Normally in Kdramas the ML is all high and mighty never bowing down to anyone; but Hyunwoo is such a mature character who knows when to bow and yield down to others. Much more realistic and natural than usual kdrama characters.
Then again, everyone in this drama is so good at acting. Even the baby is good at acting with that crying face while he was getting vaccinated. :)
Seems like Beomja will fall for that guy in the village whose mother tried to tell Haein about the divorce.
It’s funny because in the trailer someone (I think Beomja) says that that guy looks like Leslie Cheung and in real life that actor played the role of Leslie Cheung’s ghost in a small indie Korean movie.
I was so surprised, this drama is full of references to other popular dramas like CLOY and Vincenzo; but I didn’t expect them to reference an art movie.
Have you watch it’s okay to not be okay? I love him in both. Moon Gang Tae and Baek Hyun Woo.
I only watched the first few episodes, but I dropped it because I couldn’t stand that they kept showing the same flashbacks to their childhood every two minutes. :D
But as I said in the other comment I find everything he has done amazing, but it’s just that this time I feel like he is even better.
What about King Lee hwon from METS KSH drama which got highest rating in TV cable
Actually for me that was the least memoriable one. 😅 But don’t get me wrong I loved that one and I looved Do Min Joon too. That’s what makes it so impressive because his previous works were the top amazing and yet he managed to go even beyond them like an olympic breaking his own record.
Sorry but Do Min Joon who? I feel like this is KSH’s best role yet. He is just so perfect as Baek Hyun Woo… His acting, all expressions are crazy good and also he looks crazy handsome like really really crazy!!
