IKR??? I was waiting on how they'll handle 2nd brother's storyline as well. I was a bit disappointed that he was…
Exactly the aunt's touch was nicely done. Showing him a happy kid and then showing he was not could have came as a over done things but after watching episode 2 it was nicely handled. I guess scene like the cloth washing secretly in night or the infamous period scene will not going to be the part of this series which to me is good thing. I saw how they shown 2nd brother life moulding cause of neighborhood chatting and his aunts constant reminder (which was also present in OG). Being said that I agree the emotional level is bit short but I don't think the character of Ha zi qui can be performed easily the way Steven Zhang did. The little add on by the write of OG made the entire drama so much close to our heart
Thanks for sharing your insight regarding the OG version and remake version. I am actually planning to check out…
I agree with ila here, Steven played the character so well, his character was never involved/had romantic feeling with the FL, his character was my favourite from that story right after Li ba's. You will definitely love how his character is done and how much he shines in the story and hunt of finding a family for himself.
I hate myself right now. The way the watching experience is getting spoiled cause my mind/memories can easily pinpoint what I don't like from the original is seriously annoying. This was not present when I was watching "F4 thailand" which became my favourite adaptation so I want to stop that and see it as stand alone but you can find me comparing here in comment as well. Being said that. I decided to write what I like about this drama so that I can trick my brain into seeing this as a stand alone series.
Starting with things I actually loved, the child actor have beautifully performed their part, the scene after the fight with there disheveled hairs😂, them calling Sanha for breakfast, the shop near the staircase (some of my favourite scenes from OG). As it is mentioned romance as one of main genre for this drama I can see the clear difference with their relationship and lastly the 2nd brother story, i re-watched the ep 1 with that thought process and found how different the 2nd brother story is in 1 episode. I'm excited to see how his story unfolds in this version. Unlike the OG the 2nd brother is much more bubbly in his childhood and seem a happy kid so I'm looking forward how they wrote his trajectory.
Why am I excited? In OG all the leads including 2 dad has gone through too much. And the 2nd brother was a reserved person from the start(childhood) he wasn't that bubbly child. His mother was also shown with much more depth and how he work in fields with his grandmother before coming to Li Ba (fl father) which was very emotional and nuanced. While the character are very different here so that why I'm excited how they have wrote his character
As the Original "Go Ahead" is an incredibly popular drama, especially on MDL, the comparisons are and will be…
Exactly what I was saying couple comments ago. The comparison is going to be there but I'm open to this adaptation. I can see whole lot of changes made to all the siblings. Also like in OG the family aspect was heavy and it didn't stayed within the 5 main character but got beyond to their friends and neighbours too. So far I am enjoying this show. And I too agree with you on the fact that if people find hard to go through 40+ episodes this is good way to see such a beautiful story
Yes in og it did happen that time that why they talked to her saying he was going to Singapore and the other to England. That's why fl was there alone when she started the college
If I remember correctly they were on they way to airport from Singapore to China when accident happened Sanha found that out through phone call and that's why he went to Singapore in beginning not cause the mother asked him to come. But once he was there she decided to make him stay there forever. But he came back and then she came back with the sister to take him back
Reading the comments here comparing this remake with the OG one, I'm glad that I've never watch the OG in the…
I actually agree with you. Cause I watched the OG my mind is easily pin pointing what I don't like. I wish I could off that portion of drama watching experience. Even though I'm loving this but the fact I know it's an adaptation that comparison game is interfering all the time.
Watched 2 episodes of this drama & I loved it... I already watched the Chinese version so it feels so good when…
Same. I am enjoying it so much. I hopped in cause of the FL dad is played by Choi Won Yeong i enjoy his acting so I'm really loving this one. It's like watching lite version of the original and I'm not complaining about it❤️
I really loved the first episode! It was well made and the child actors were perfect. Little actress is really…
I think being a adaptation in these times where almost a big chunk of population has watched the original and love it it will be hard to not end up the comparison game. And the fact it's a adaptation people will compare it as its not a stand alone series. But being said that they have done a pretty good job. And yes I agree with you having watched the original it's kinda weird to watch this. Not saying difficult but it's like you can pin point exactly what you don't like about this
well it is a first time watch for me since I didn't see the original, usually I lose interest in chinese dramas…
Apart from that I like Cdrama a lot cause of how many episodes are there they chose either 24-35/36-40/45 episode length which is perfect for most of story development as Cdrama more often has multiple couple as main leads or multiple storys were told in one drama length. So they often chose to divide the entirety of the show with almost equal episodes going through multiple small plots when it comes to multiple main characters.
well it is a first time watch for me since I didn't see the original, usually I lose interest in chinese dramas…
Great for you. My point on being fast or slow paced was cause I read few comments earlier saying it's too fast paced then it original work so I pointed out how viewer actually loose interest in slow paced drama epically if it's dropping weakly and not all together. So what I was saying is if the story was too slow paced the rating might have dropped cause their is already a discord on internet even before the release that since they have watch the original they don't want to and other half where like I'll only watch to see hwang in yeop to get the girl.
And now seeing two episodes which was literal copy of original scenes from the original show people has started to drop the show that's why I said it feels like compilation of few scene from the show. To me that's not an issue I was just pointing out it can be hard to cover a story which was 46 ish episode long into 16 episode
I'm 10 min in kinda happy that they chose to go through the childhood rather than flashback which to me what made Go Ahead special as you get to see them from their child to adult hood. Being said that "GO AHEAD" was like 40+ episodes so I have no idea how fast pace this one is going to be. Also a lot of kdrama are fast paced and most of the time I have seen people (viewer) loosing interest in a slow paced ongoing drama so I'm bit worried if it too fast paced we won't be able to get attached with the familiar bond that was the highlight of original. Let see how it goes. And since I'm person who hardly drops a drama I'm going to watch this one fully, cause honestly at this point it feels like I'm watching Go Ahead compilation on YouTube which I'm okay with.
I genuinely wish they don't go way too heavy on the love triangle portion cause even in original the 2nd brother proposing the FL the motive was not romantic love but much more a want to be the part of family officially. And knowing my kdrama that can be heavy on love triangle I fear that part of the story most
i agree i'm not even into this kind of drama nor have i watched the og but i loved the vibes
Honestly I'm going to be one of those people who say watch the original and I know how annoying they can be but here I'm. You should definitely watch the original. The story the portrayal by the actor you will end up falling for that drama. It is so beautiful written, directed and executed by all the actor. The story is nothing like things I have seen, the ost is so heartwrenching beautiful. The drama is perfection
So just a crazy off the rails "extraordinary you" again
They way you want this to be I guess you end up enjoying "extraordinary you" so I'll say watch it I don't want to give you a slightest bit of spoiler ☺️
