I fell in love with this drama and another one that is Way Back Love. The way they choose to deliver the story is what has my heart, and the amount of tears I cried was unbelievable to me, and I still wanted to rewatch both shows immediately.

When I finished the show, I felt so complete, calm, and at the same time utterly broken and sad after finishing it. I felt this way for the second time, as I said before.
Like our top reviewer pointed out, the episode titles are dialogues from different movies; what caught my eye was the illustration of the house from the movie UP in the episode 7 title card.
I was paying attention to every title card that rolled in, and when I read her review, it got me entrigued cause I thought that these title cards are so specific, and then I did a reverse image search because not only were the background illustrations different, but the typography and choice of visual vocab were too, and *I found not only borrowed the dialogue as episode titles, but they also created typography, illustrations, and visual imagery for each episode title that was an homage to those movies. And on top of that, each episode creates another tiny homage to the movie it is quoting through the emotional theme of the episode*.
This show has such a nuanced way of paying tribute to some amazing movies and is a treat for movie lovers. It was very meta in that sense. It paid homage to almost every genre of movie through it differnt episodes, from adventure, darkness, crime, healing, romance, fantasy, animation, romantic comedy, family drama, and classic cinema. It tells its own story through the emotional vocabulary of movies.
👉 Not only that, it took meta to another level. Throughout the show, we see Mubee's decision to make "Melody," but what I noticed was Melody playing itself out in the show.
Mubee, in an initial meeting with Ju-a, asks her to change the emotional logic of "Melody" so that the characters don't merely understand what went wrong after the relationship has already ended. She wants the realization to happen through the experience of the relationship itself.
After that, what we see of Hongsi and Ju-a's story is what "Melody" was going to be - Si-jun and Ju-a are forced to work together again. - They begin reliving the emotional dynamics of their old relationship. - They start understanding what actually happened from the other person's perspective. - They briefly wonder whether that understanding means they can be together again. - And ultimately they realize something much more painful and mature: They did love each other, but understanding why they failed does not mean they should restart the relationship.
Ju-a explains she had been losing herself in the relationship by continually prioritizing Si-jun's ambitions over her own, while Si-jun eventually learns to stop treating the end of their relationship as a personal failure.
And that is exactly what Mubee's filmmaking philosophy is asking the characters in "Melody" to do - "Don't just arrive at an intellectual conclusion after everything is over. Actually experience the emotional truth of what happened."
To me, that is such brilliant writing. That's why we get to see so much of second couple and to a limit that they hog attention from the main couple.
I wish I could stop crying; such a tight screenplay and what brilliant storytelling. Till the end, Kim Ram Woo stayed the same as he was, and that pained me the most, but I'm happy for everyone who found the courage to move forward and let their life go on.

Imagine the first love would turn out to be Kang Hagi.
I thought she meant it was Lee Chan because she didn't want to say he was a fan and that her idol had saved her, so she changed it to "first love" when she was talking to Hagi.
The wait is killing me, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!! This is the good shit; Kang Hagi is THE choice from day 1.
I like how Da reum is she gives a feeling that she never intended to date or get romantically involved with his bais though there are some moment where she feels like that, but for most time she is like *I support you but don't want to date you cause it will ruin the memory of you* But since it is so hard for her to say no or express her feelings she said yes to dating Lee Chan.
Also, Lee Chan feeling is very much of appreciation towards someone who has supported him during his hardest time phase just like Da Reum has for Lee Chan, and that's why she finds it even more uncomfortable around him.
I have mixed feelings. I like the plot and all, but at the same time it was too predictable, and the fact that Si-won, along with the guy Hye Ryeong had a crush on, didn't seem to see that what they did was wrong, even when they were dying. Neither had an ounce of remorse. Not only that, Si-won became the biggest driving force of the curse, resulting in trapping Hye Ryeong's soul as well.
Also, what was interesting was that with Geon Woo and Na-ri, the timer didn't disappear. It stood still, like once it claimed the newer victim, it would be back for the older one. And even after Se Ah wished for Geon Woo to be better again, basically asking to spare his life, Si-won still kept haunting him and hurting him. So, basically, a wish to save someone or stop it is never taken into account by Si-won.
That's why I have mixed feelings. Overall, a good watch, but honestly, if you see an explanation video on YT, you can literally skip this one. Better to watch Light Shop or Tarot if you are looking for a miniseries but want to watch a full-length drama; watch Revanavnt instead of this one.

It's funny, fluffy with a side of mafia + a twist that you can see coming from miles ahead, but even with all that, it's pretty enjoyable, doesn't bore you, and has its charm.
Finally found time to finish this overall enjoyable and would have been amazing, but God, what were those last few minutes in Joseon? Why do I remember reading an article that said this wasn't a time-slip story but rather something else? Also, we never see Dan Shin till the end, like she is with the daegun jagha, and he said she did forget everything. The pacing is a huge issue; they added so much story as the show progresses that they had no thoughts of closing them till episode 13. They kept on adding more pieces without giving a proper end to any. I need to go find answers cause I have no idea what happened; it reminded me of "The Story of Park's Marriage Contract." Like the similar way it's reincarnation of ML, but the FL travelled through time, and by the end the ML in the past and present became two entities, while the FL remained a time traveler, and not only that, she and Dan Shin swapped souls, but we get to see Dan Shin at very end, and she has no issue with the fact that she is in Joseon she aslo say she is back in her body. Basically telling us she was always aware of that fact?????????????

But the reason I said that is that in Study Group, a student who is adamant about studying but only knows how to fight promises his mom he will never use his fighting skills. He gets enrolled in a school famous for having students who behave like thugs [imagine episode 2 of Teach You a Lesson], knowing it's the lowest-performing school in the area where he can excel, but still fails and forms a study group with kids who don't participate in school, and they have a weird fight to get higher on the rank activity (not in school rank terms). And in the end, the group fights bullies, and it's high-action comedy drama.
