i don't think he's cheating lol. the guy didn't seem too into that forced kiss.
OMG yes thank you for saying that out loud and as if that women doesn't k now he is married, plus he had time to inform her/ update her of his life event that affect him and his wife like quitting your job that too immediately and conveniently forgets to tell his wife
novel readers, pls tell me they stayed tgt and bought a big house
In a novel, he cheated, and then they got divorced. That’s what I read. But there are so many changes made in the series. But,
NGL, his behavior is very weird. When his wife was disrespected, he didn't utter a word. If I give him the pass for that, he was trying to secure a client, and then that said client slapped his wife, and he honestly did nothing. Hu Xiu did a better job than he did.
Next, he started a business without telling his wife, and made her panic, and let her believe he was into some shady stuff. I'm not saying you need permission, but you just need to have a conversation that says, “Hey, babe, I'm thinking about this, and I want you to support me. And the way Zhao Xiao is, she definitely would.”
Then he quit his job and again hid it, even though his wife knew that he would leave once the project was secured, which he himself told her. She didn't ask him to do this and then leave your job, but he did that.
Even if you think he is doing those for their happiness, then that's not how relationships work. You need to communicate with each other because you’re not just girlfriend or boyfriend anymore. You guys are married, and as a partner, you need to communicate things and not hide things that affect both of you. These things should be discussed with your partner.
As I read this somewhere, cheating is a series of choices you make, and it doesn't happen out of the blue. These are the choices he is making, and I agree with a few people here who noticed the pattern first and said he looks like he has fallen out of love with his wife. But since they have been together for so long, the comfort of knowing is what keeps him with her.
Stop here if you haven't watched episode 16,
1. Big spoiler, he immediately updates his affair partner that he quit his job, but conveniently forgets to tell his wife. 2. Major spoiler, he is very much emotionally cheating on his wife, and she caught them physically cheating too. Even his sweet acts these past few days toward his wife were mere afterthoughts of his outing with his affair partner, and the drama doesn't just hint at this; it shows it in full detail. As for the chat beyond the boundary, it had been going on between them for so long.
The English title, it matches the vibe of the show so well. It's not one of those stories where ML and FL fall at first sight or just for plot, but you can see through their interactions and sharing their lives that they are falling for each other more and more. It's slow, but the intimacy is surely there from the very first meeting.
I’ve noticed that this drama has been crafted with remarkable intricacy, especially in how each character’s…
Wow for someone who didn't ever noticed this nuance it somehow made so much sense.
Actually, there was one instance when I noticed this voice nuance was in another CDrama, Sweet Teeth, and I was F**king captivated how Bi Wenjun’s character Ai Jingchu’s voice matches so much his character. And mind you, this was my 2nd CDrama ever. Then in interviews, I listened to him talk, and it was completely different. That’s how I learned a dubbing voice actor has been used to fill literally all of his lines. I was sure I was disappointed, but since I have watched that drama multiple times, I truly understand why the voice actor was needed and how much the CDrama creator thinks about all the nuances to let their viewer completely immerse themselves in the universe of the drama they are watching.
I'm someone who look into cinematography and camera angle + plus how the aesthetic is used in show with editing overlays so you explaining the voice nuances was such an amazing perspective. thank you
In episode 12, Zhuyi asked why Hu Xiu never moved, and I can see why she didn't [even without watching her answer the question]. That space has so much character and warmth. The community aspect is even more beautiful. I feel so safe living there.
I know this is drama, so maybe the inside of her apartment can either have set decoration or be completely built up. Keeping that aside. The space is perfect in my view. It has 2 balconies, rooms, and bathrooms. The sitting area is enough, and there is a mini terrace where you can walk out and sit looking at the city. If I even find a place like this, I'll say yes in a heartbeat. I love small houses. That is enough for me.
Also, the red roof building looks so similar, it's kinda the same as in MY BOSS [another Chen Xing Xu's drama]
Many of the women in this show are freaking amazing. Xiguang's mom, her aunt, even her paternal grandmother, and the friends she found at her company. They are all girls, girls. This reminds me of LOVE IS SWEET & YOU ARE MY SECRET. These shows have some really amazing female characters, not just the MFL but most of the women in these shows. Love shows like these, where they uplift each other and aren't jealous of every single thing.
Also, Yin Jie is so real for saying one of her wishes was for her bestie to get together with a rich CEO😂. Xiguang has bad luck with friends in her college days, but in her working phase, she has found amazing friends and human beings. Also love how Lin Yusen's cousins are amazing (except one). Instead of being salty and supporting their parents' cat fight for name, they support him. And how can I forget the best of all, Jiang Rui 💜, one of the best brothers out there
God, I'm so stupid. I just realized the drama is set in 2013. I'm on episode 25, and the lecture scene is going on, and I just discovered the graph has no data after 2012. That's when it hit me.
I mean, even though it started with 2011 shown as past and 2012 as present. The fl didn't know what WeChat was, even though it's constantly shown as their preferred way of online communication in many modern shows. Then there's handing out cash everywhere, when in modern drama you rarely see that. Every time they have to pay, it's tap or scan to pay. ML wrote 2013 on postcards, and I thought he was hinting at some specific date. Aahhhhhh, I feel so dumb RN 🤦🏻♀️😂 the fact that I rarely miss small details in a show and I missed such a big one is so funny and embarrassing to me.
Being said that...I'm really enjoying this show. I didn't expect it to be this amazing, but I'm hooked. Thank god Chinese dramas air almost 2 episodes per day and not 2 episodes per week. I would have lost it because I binge-watched the first 19 episodes so fast that waiting weeks would have killed me. Also, I'm in love with the OST, especially the opening track, and him walking towards her during the wedding episode, and the OST playing in the background is my favorite scene.
Please feel at ease Mr. Ling,
She and her perfect Husband,
Best choice ever
