Shu Yan wished for them to never have met and fall in love. They did end up having that happen, it was just delayed.…
Yes, because with every reversal, the only thing that changed was time, as every other key moment of that day kept happening the same way. Her falling, them almost crashing on a green light, the button falling, him finding out about the author, her mom finding her career change, and then the accident.
Hinting viewer that time was the only aspect that was changing and can work as a possible trade-in, but are they willing to make that choice? She somehow was able to make that sacrifice because Yu Xuan didn't. He would rather choose her to stay alive. (True to his character cause in times of adversity, he always chose her to stay out of it, exactly like their relationship)

Now, the interesting detail I noticed that made Shu Yan's wish make more sense was the time Yu Xuan woke up after every reversal. He always woke up 15 minutes earlier than the last one, so originally it was 9:30, then it went to 9:15 and 9:00. Regardless of this, the same things happened, but what changed was the time of death for Shu Yan. So, rather than Yu Xuan waking up earlier and having more time with her, Shu Yan kept dying 15 minutes earlier than the original timeline; that was the only change in each reversal. Making a point that time can be traded in if they want to make that wish.

(How I know Shu Yan died earlier with the first reversal at 9:15. Yu Xuan wanted to rush out of the police station to save Shu Yan; he remembered her original time of death. However, he was notified about the accident that had happened earlier and was surprised to hear that. Not only that, the first responder also made a point with each other, she died 15 minutes ago when they were at the accident scene.)

How come they are together? It’s simple, as shown in the movie: she found the loophole- "sacrificing their time together". This means that even later in life, she will still remember those five years and her sacrifice, while he will not. This also confirmed when Yu Xuan met her at her bakery, he didn't remember her, while she remembered everything; it’s similar to how Shu Yan didn't remember the first two reversals. The theme was never about sacrificing each other or only one could live; rather, if they want to save someone, it will cost them something, so are they willing to take that risk? She understood that and came up with the loophole of letting go of Yu Xuan and never finding him.
So how come he went to the bakery? NOTICE THE DATE when that exact thing happened, it was Jan 1st 2023. When January 1, 2023, arrived, it marked a new day (new beginning) for both of them; cause together they never moved past December 31, 2022. As before that, Yu Xuan's wish kept them stuck on the same day, while Shu Yan's wish took them five years back. So when the new year came, they effectively skipped their doomsday, as it was not that one of them would die the next day or later just because they survived that particular day. The movie shows that their doomsday was supposed to happen on that "particular" day. (It's not as if they will never die, but for now, they have made it past the doomsday, somewhat akin to what happens in "Lovely Runner" or "Perfect Marriage Revenge.")
Just like their older version said, what is destined to happen will happen. They were destined to meet, but one of them was destined to die on December 31, 2022. Which, due to Shu Yan's wish, they actively skipped, and since she wished upon the candle that she never met him. The fate considered that sacrifice and made sure that they didn't meet at the time being.

She found the loophole: rather than sacrificing each other, she sacrificed their time together. Even when they were together in the future, she would remember those five years and the sacrifice she made, while he would not. Additionally, although she wanted to meet him later, she gave up that option as well.

Yu Xuan's wish kept them stuck on the same day, while Shu Yan's wish took them five years back. When they met afterward, it was clear that Yu Xuan didn’t remember their time together, just as Shu Yan never remembered the first two reversals. If he had remembered, it would have created a plot hole.
An interesting observation I made is related to the time is Yu Xuan woke up 15 minutes earlier with each time reversal Shu yun death time also changed. Initially, he woke up at 9:30, and although there was no specific time shown for her death, it seemed that way because the next day, he woke up at 9:15. When he was running from the police station to save her, she was already in an accident and had died 15 minutes earlier, as stated by the first responders.
I went through so many emotions at once. There were so many things I saw coming, but I didn't know she would end up using that loophole. Honestly, why didn't I see that coming at all? I was also a little bit surprised that it's either of them rather than just him. I really enjoy Arthur's acting; his eyes have so much conviction, but my God, Zhou Ye; the crying scene made me bawl my eyes out. Even the fight where she says she didn't think he would leave her this easily hit home for me because I was in a similar situation. Her acting is so natural, and both of their voices are so soft and calming. I saw her in "Everyone Loves Me," and I think I'm now even a bigger fan. I came across a comment saying the ending is the best they've seen in a long time. God, after "The Best Thing" wedding scene, I guess I kinda agree with that person. I never thought I could cry this much as the post-credit rolled in.
He is an amazing actor. In addition, he owns a fashion brand, co-owns a confectionery store, and a dessert shop. It's impressive that he has built three different businesses in just five years. I honestly respect him and aspire to be like him.
Someone in the comment said the character is made for Win, and I could agree more, like Ajin was written for Win. I cannot see anyone else playing it other than him
It's 3 days 😐. Also, what an amazing season. I love how Enigma, even in S1, used minimal body horror to scare us, but rather worked on the story and screenplay to make it haunting and eerie. I felt the same with this season as well. There is one episode left, I hope I see Tul (Bright's character), cause I saw the buttery in scenes, and if I remember correctly, like Ajin uses Bee, he used Butterfly to keep an eye on others.
Also, I thought Madam Kosum is like the head or formed the Enigma, but she is just another group member cause she also wrote "turnback on enigma, turnback on existence" means she joined Enigma at some point during researching
It looks like a spin of it, but it is S2 as Ajin is looking in the Enigma group, so I’m thinking while looking…
I kinda wished the same when I watched the trailer and even read the announcement that they are preparing for S2, BUT while watching this season, I really don’t want Fa to be here. It would have ruined it and made it into a duo-solving-cases kind of scenario. Also, she is a minor in the show as she is a high schooler, and Ajin’s character is in his late 20s, which made the romance (which I came across in older comments in S1, hoping for) disturbing.

I mean, she is a high school student, so she can't be here. What you can see is Ajin, Anya(the character he begins to date at the very end of s1), Bright's character Tul, as he is part of the Enigma group (if i remember correctly like Ajin he used Butterflies to keep an eye on other) and maybe the girl that becomes friends with Fa midway, Yiwha, who was also a member of Enigma. So I don’t think Fa fits in this situation to be on S2 or in later seasons (if they are coming).
Really think this series might be the first 10/10 I give this year because so far I have zero flaws with it, it…
Also, "I know GMMTV doesn’t have a great track record when it comes to finales," I couldn't agree more. I have watched many GMMTV shows, and they successfully ruin the finales every single time.
is this the official season 2?!? or a spin-off/extra series??
It looks like a spin of it, but it is S2 as Ajin is looking in the Enigma group, so I’m thinking while looking into them, he is coming across these cases. Like S1 is a case of high school with Fa and Namsine, and then this entertainment industry S2 case.
A lot of Win haters, people who rate the show without even watching it. It'll go up once more people watch it.
i I hope it does. I was waiting for this since the S1 ended, and I am loving this so much. I hope it gets the hype S1 had so that many more seasons can come.
