I Love This Drama
I have to admit I am a Yan Zi Dong fan now. His acting is so spot on and he has made me laugh throughout this drama just by the expressions that dance across his face. All you haters of Dylan Wang have to criticize someone. There is nothing wrong with his acting skills. He is not acting cold like in his recent modern drama with Bai Lu. Her acting was no better than his. I am sure that the director or whoever is responsible, wanted the drama to come across like that. But Guardians of the Dafeng is an action packed, interesting drama that I have thoroughly enjoyed. I will remember and rewatch this drama. I groan after each episode because I am so into it that I don't want it to end. I hope to see Yan Zi Dong in more dramas!Was this review helpful to you?
Good Drama
I have enjoyed this drama. The FL was SDC and innocent at the beginning, and she has played her darker self very well. The ML is always consistent (and I will add so handsome) in any drama he is in. I really like the whole cast and even the ones we should hate are worth hating. Gotta love that mean Empress. She makes me want to slap her face. Lol, which means she plays her part way too well. This drama is not a waste of your time even though you may grow impatient with wanting this couple to finally get together. I hope the ending is good and not a bad oneWas this review helpful to you?
Love This Drama
Who can beat Zhao Lusi in acting skills? I would say at the very least,90% of her dramas are hits. Even her ML will benefit after the drama is over. I am definitely a fan girl to her. This drama has definitely had me hooked from the start. I groan at only being able to watch 2 episodes a day. The second ML and FL are definitely adding interest and character to the drama. I have always loved the actress who plays Zhao Lusi's MIL. I don't always know the name of Chinese actors (my bad and the names are hard to remember), but I'm always happy to see them. Be patient and enjoy this drama. We all have told lies, just not to this extent. But it wouldn't be very interesting if it wasn't over-the-top. Sit back and enjoy the roller coater ride. Best Drama Of 2025
I can't say enough good things about this drama. The ML and FL are both fantastic, as is all the actors in this drama. The humor had me LOL in each episode. It is a quirky take on The Bible story about Satan and the story of Aladdin. It is not yet revealed if the ML is truly Shaytan ((Satan) or if the guy with wings will actually be the bad guy. That is purely my thoughts and not the actual facts of this drama. The 3 immortal brothers have been revealed, but Christ, the Archangel and the Genie seem pretty evident. I think surprises will have us all go "aha"! This drama will keep your attention throughout this series. So many fun and funny exchanges between characters without being slapstick that keeps you watching. You can watch this on Netflix in English, but I prefer to hear their actual voices and read subtitles.Was this review helpful to you?
A Bad Psychiatrist
The storyline has quite a few holes and the stupidity of the psychiatrist makes it more unbelievable. I think the chemistry is good between the leads actors. There are times the humor makes me LOL, but as intelligent as the FL starts out in the drama, it's disconcerting to watch her dumb down. The brother has been obvious in his feelings for the FL and she should have shut that down from the beginning. Not enough questions have been asked by FL to treat her patients and to be so dim witted is offensive to females and to psychiatry. This is the lowest I have given any drama. Since there is not any new dramas lately, I will paddle through by just watching a couple at a time and shut it down. It is dragging out way too long.Was this review helpful to you?
Why Not Stick To What Worked?
I absolutely LOVED BP1. I can't count the number of times I watched this survival show. I didn't want this show to end. It wasn't perfect, but was the most perfect survival show I have seen. I was invested and dedicated to every boy on this show. We saw their sweet side, funny side, compassionate side and brotherly love side. Now let's discuss BP2. Almost every aspect of this show is wrong. From show casing every boy to the public and then to eliminating before the actual show, there were so many boys that it was actually ridiculous. They changed from having two boy bands simultaneously (one from China and one from Korea) to just having one boy band. They complicated the entire beginning confusing and upsetting many fans. Probably staff members were ultimately cut loose very early on and lost pay plus opportunities. Why couldn't they follow in the footsteps of BP1? Start with pre picked boys, audition them on TV, start the program song, add or subtract stars, start stages, let fans vote fearlessly, eliminate lower voted boys, have another stage, vote, eliminate, etc. what a cluster f#*@! BP2 has become. I am so disappointed on how this show is being produced, I have lost interest. What a shame to have a successful footprint ignored and a bunch of fruit loop ideas ruin some boy's future. I will bet there will be no successful debut like ZB1 has had. Love This Drama
The male and female leads are better in this drama than any other I have seen them in. The most stellar performance though must go to the brother played by Zhang Chi. The girl he likes is adorable and just right for him. I am more interested in how these two characters end up together than the leads. They have made this ordinary drama into extraordinary. Zhang Chi plays his character just right...an awkward person that makes you laugh and makes you teary with his puppy dog eyes. Definitely watch this drama.Was this review helpful to you?
Best Drama This Year
This drama is certainly worth every episode....it could have had more! I am sad it is over and will think of it often. The ML/FL were totally believable in whichever relationship they were in. I laughed, I cried and the memories of my childhood until marriage rolled around in my head. I never dated a guy from my school, but had plenty of male friends that I could equate on the same level as their friendship. Sigh.....I will miss this drama.Was this review helpful to you?
Not The Best, But Not The Worst
With so many twists and turns, it's hard to keep up. Actually the relationship is almost questionable between the two men, but threw his sister in the mix to keep it from being questionable. The acting is not so great except the Lead Consort. Her facial expressions are quite cute. It really boils down to the script writers not doing a good job and the director not making the most of the wonderful collection of actors he has available. It is no where near a top tier drama, but there are parts that made me LOL.Was this review helpful to you?
Li Tong Guang
To me, he has become quite interesting. Being Ren Xin's only disciple and teetering between boyhood and becoming a man, his acting is superb and spot on. I don't have to mention the main cast because we all think they are excellent. I really feel Li Tong's despair and I have teared up almost every time he has. Obsessive love has to be a difficult emotion to manage. Great job! This drama has gotten better with almost every episode. I still have 26 episodes to go and I hope it stays on the same feel all the way through.Was this review helpful to you?

Very Slow
This could have been an excellent drama had the story not been dragged out especially when they go into the painting. I like the ML and FL and their acting is good. After twice of failing to get out of the painting, third time should have been the charm. Either add more demon stories to this drama or stop at 24 episodes. I can tell that dragging the storyline will continue to happen. By Episode 21 I was fast forwarding hoping to put a stop to this scene. Nope...it's still happening through Episode 22 ending and still trapped. If no other drama is available I will watch it, but I will wait til all 40 Episodes are aired.Was this review helpful to you?
Hidden Gem
This drama is worth every minute of the watch. The wonderful humor injected throughout (especially the last few minutes of the last episode) made me laugh. It was a sweet spirit drama that I will rewatch several months from now. All the actors had their own charm and I unexpectedly liked the king's eunich A LOT. He was definitely a comic relief. I loved the CP between the leads and it was very believable. I hope more people find this drama and enjoy it as much as I did.Was this review helpful to you?
Gotta Love The Horse
This drama had a slow start and hard to see FL not looking her usual glam self. Her costumes are horrible IMO, but it is every day people. It has a slow build and my attention gets sidetracked because it drags on instead of moving on. I have enjoyed watching parts like in Episode 23 when the male lead is surrounded, fighting for his life. His trusty horse comes out of nowhere and takes down a couple of bad guys. It was so unexpected and I LMAO and re watched the scene several times. I'm not use to watching this particular FL playing such a weak woman. There are times she isn't weak. Her character has too many flaws for my taste. Overall it's a pretty good drama.Was this review helpful to you?
Good drama
I think this is a great drama and really don't understand the low ratings given. The ML has never looked as handsome as he appears in this drama. His acting is good, but he always acts his part well. Turned Out Better Than Expected
I have always been a fan of Vin Zhang, but have been disappointed in some of the roles he acted in. Normally a cold, dispassionate person who some how wins the girl in the end. This drama is different because he actually has more than a stone face and cold tone to show us. It started out that way for sure, but after a couple of episodes, his character began to change. For the first time, I actually saw a humorous side of Vin Zhang. Even some modern dramas that was humorous didn't show his characters sense of humor. Sun Zhen Ni is at one of her best roles IMO. Both leads have great chemistry towards each other. I'm glad I didn't drop this drama.Was this review helpful to you?
