Everyone will feel better if they can simply accept this is not a rom-com, this emotional disturbance in the force is because people are stuck in this why can't it be a rom com mode. Because it just isn't, if you feel cheated that the cast and crew promoted the show wrongly then that is a difference complaint versus the show sucks because it isn't a rom com.

Before anything else was it OK for him to read her medical records without her consent? We could give him a pass on how he couldn't take NO for an answer and made her feel guilty for not reciprocating his feelings as if she owed him (he is humans we have faults), but noooooooooooo there has to be a line one should not cross. Even in loving marital relationships is it appropriate to read each other's correspondence without prior consent that we trust each other to do that.
What made it infinitely worst was his abhorrent reaction, he made it all about himself, his feeling being hurt, how could she do this to HIM. Seriously duuuude you friend's cancer is not about you and she is under no obligation to tell you anything.
The second ML/ex-fiance turned out to be more dignified honorable human being.
I know everyone is riding on FL for not telling anyone, but that is her choice, should she not be afforded the space, time and respect she deserves to come to a decision on her own, instead they are all gaslighting her.

what is shocking is there are no drinking scenes in the first episodes between the leads, praise the lord finally communication with words while being sober

They didn't rush this ending, on this point alone it is a winner, gave the audience who invested months of their time and emotions a satisfying experience and it prepared us to say solemn goodbye. all good things must end. there were some lull moments but it did not derail the overall quality of the drama. lovely runner couple will go down as one of the most memorable kdrama couples.

I haven't watched 9 yet, but why is everyone saying that from the Epilogue? Will it make sense if I watch Episode…
I don't understand either, how does a kiss confirm a wedding???????

Prediction Tae Sung and his father must have some role to play in getting ride of the serial killer. It cannot just be a coincidence that his father happens to be a police officer. Also Tae Sung is in the story for a reason, he was the OG eclipse member it feels like Sun Jae got Tae Sung's life, he got the girl he loved and his dream career. It cannot be another coincidence that Tae Sung is waiting for Im Sol when the serial killer is released from prison, is he there to warn/protect her????

The journey into the past by Im Sol is not about securing a boyfriend, but to make sure the three of them had a shot at a good life. Im Sol falling in love with Sun Jae was added bonus. Her intention is to ensure Sun Jae lives regardless of whether she is part of his life or not, and knowing future Tae Sung lost his way she tried her best to help him and also help herself.

LR is great so far you almost fear that a crash is coming, how much plot is left for another 8 episodes? This is such a fast paced drama excited and nervous to see how the writers sustain this level of excellence.

I am curious to see how Sun Jae was killed the first time. Byeon Woo Seok is a big guy, he is an idol/athlete physically fit it will never be easy to take him down without a hard struggle. He did take depression meds, possibly drugs that could have weakened him slowed him down in a fight, but how did he get pushed down, did he die of drowning or was he dead before he fell, How come there was no signs of struggle on his body or in the room?

WOOWWWWWWWWWWW WHAT A KISS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Byeon woo seok's full lips, he has lips like no other actor, and considering his untouchable height it creates a flavor we never see in another couple. This has to best kiss anyone is going to see in a very long time. It met all the guidelines, consent from the boy he is a gentleman, passionate yet it was innocent, desire without losing control, longing lots of love, smiles at the end with that slight shyness was the perfect finishing touch.

Standing ovation to both the actors, beautifully acted very much in character so professional.

It is unfortunate how they are treating Soo Cheol's marriage with Da Hye, why is the writer stuck in a loop. They have shown her running away once before why waste time with the same action, should we not get character development by now. We just had her MIL take a stand for her thus wouldn't it be more progressive to show Da Hye tell Soo Cheol the full truth. Soo Cheol and Da Hye cannot have one adult conversation, he is not going to ask her anything about her lies.

The problem with Queen of Tears plethora of characters, but uneven character development, either they are not moving fast enough, or there is none or suddenly the character itself disappears. Not all the characters are interesting, hence it feels uneven in pacing.

The moment she was diagnosed with brain tumor, memory wipe plot device was guaranteed. But what is even more sure is that she will remember him after a few hiccups, happy ending is upcoming.

Positive note episode 14 some great acting by Kim Soo Hyun, it has been said a billion times over by many the boy knows how to cry and act and emote A.C.E. in single shot.

somehow i prefer the suci*de theory more than the murder theory...firstly cuz am tired of murder in every rom-com…
I agree kdramas have always needlessly inserted thriller elements in rom-coms as a lazy way to prolong the story without taking the more sincere approach of focusing on characters. A character driven story that focuses on personal growth, seeks to learn from each other, the fragility and strength of the human spirit is more rewarding than the lazy who-did-it plot. As audience we are so corrupted by this we are already assuming he was pushed off the balcony and she is going to swoop in like marvel hero and save him is such a pathetic to end their story and it is a disservice towards this memorable couple that we wish to remember for a long time.

the fire scene was murderous to watch , i deeply wish they willingly made it so annoying to get a reaction out…
agreed that was a very bad scene, staging was all wrong, they should have been arguing outside this gives the characters an excuse for not seeing the fire. the worst bit is brother sees the sister going into a burning building his first concern would have been to drop the friend and run back to check on his sister not doing silly comedy. in a 16 episode drama we are bound to get some silly/illogical nonsense, as long it is to a bare min the drama should still be a winner.

The best thing about lovely runner is that it doesn't feel like you are too old to enjoy this. Pitfalls of youth rom com is that you tend to feel like the story/tone target audience is not made for your demographics. Lovely Runner so far has done a decent job of maintaining that innocent charm that does not annoy a apathetic adult, yet maintaining its depth in youthful characters yes they are teenagers but they are not vacuous, and overall message of hope, friendship, surviving in life regardless of what you lost, falling in love all these are not age specific themes hence why lovely runner has a universal appeal. The script so far is very crisp, tightly strung without losing focus, there are very little mistakes except for the jarring yellow umbrella mistake wish they had maintained that important detail.
On Lovely Runner Apr 16, 2024
Sing praise to Byeon Woo Seok, umbrella in the snow where Im Sol is in wheel chair scene, when we see it from her POV we can interpret it as him being a good samaritan there is no obvious indications that he knows her. However when they show the scene from his POV she is the same but his expressions change just enough to display longing/grief/guilt, the acting is not so drastically different so it does not become a completely new scene but now we get the full picture of that night. Kudos to the actor for grasping the subtle changes without overplaying it.

Question where is the eldest son who was banned by the grandfather for plotting against him, has he appeared on the show since the last confrontation. Was he at the funeral, what happened to the conspiracy theories that he was plotted against to be banished from the family. Where is his character???
On Lovely Runner Apr 13, 2024
The pace is super fast, we know what the leads true feelings are early on and the confession looks like it will happen early. This puts the worry on can they maintain this level of intensity for 16 episodes????
Kim Aye Yoo is well cast she has the youthful face that can play high school as well as they can age her up to be an adult and importantly she does positive energy really well without it being cringe or annoying, it is natural and innocent. Byeon Woo Seok has THE FACE, he was all the rage last year as Ryu Shi Oh so can't go wrong with him he knows how to deliver his lines with the appropriate emotions while looking extremely beautiful.

Why is this boy soooooo good looking and he can act a bonus. Trailer looks cute, but alas potential sad ending.
On The Impossible Heir Apr 3, 2024
For those of us who hung on for Lee Jae Wook's sake hooorraayyyyyy to us. Now let us go forth forget this ASAP and wish him the best of luck in his next project, all the superstar actors of kdrama land do several projects in their career that will fail it is all a learning experience. LJW is still a mighty talent.
On Queen of Tears Mar 31, 2024
cross over was done smoothly without being contrived. the three leads got to shine, there was that hint of sarcastic comedy, tension, realism is there yes of course she would hire a mafia lawyer she is that gangster given her personality. points to song as Vincenzo he remained in character in wit, sophistication and being threatening without overplaying it.
you can criticize the leads getting divorced was not taken seriously. however tone of this drama has always been dark comedic, death, cancer, betrayal is all treated in an offhanded manner so ultimately Vincenzo handling their divorce did not steal the spotlight but added that extra layer fun to a sad moment.
Replying to Buzzlightyear23 Mar 31, 2024
The writer should have just picked one. Chaebol story or the FL's illness.
I feel the same way, because what she has is no minor illness and there is no reality in dealing with bankruptcy and cancer treatment and not have foot in death's door due to stress. I think they showed her getting lumbar puncture, you cannot walk after that procedure it is very painful but we see her next scene running around in heels. Physical illness is a plot device just like how they treat alcoholism or mental illness in kdramas. Weaving all this together seamlessly was always going to be messy.
On Wonderful World Mar 31, 2024
Writers should have leveled the playing field more between the leads regarding their actions, create a deeper moral dilemma allowing the plot to be more compelling. If SH committed pre-meditated murder, she didn't talk to father just ran him over then SY might have a small justification for his misplaced anger. SY father is a SOB that had no remorse for killing a child, SH was a in trance she wasn't even in the correct state of mind when she did what she did. SY lashing out randomly when the source of his misery is his own father does not generate any sympathy for his pain.
Ultimately if the justified desire for revenge between them felt more equal then the subsequent emotional battle between them would be more tragic, but the writers chose a simple path taking the nuance out of the story stamping out genuine discussions on the morality of it all.
