The drama has done a good job of showing a couple no they never fell out of love, they just needed a reminder that they still love each other. Hyun Woo wanting a divorce, saying he hated her, even momentarily wishing she was dead or wanting her money was all peak frustration this is very realistic when you love someone that deeply they let you down your feelings can swing in extremes but that does not mean you really mean what you say. Hyun Woo went to such a dark place he is back and now Hae In has to go through it, ultimately they will find their way back to each other.

There is a difference between falling in love for the first time, and then finding that love again in a relationship that has gone stale. Both the actresses are doing a wonderful job in changing their expressions from the past to the present, when they first fell in love there is wonder, innocence, shyness in their interactions. However now when they are rekindling their relationship innocence is replaced with familiarity, original shyness has turned awkward, wonder is transformed into pain confusion happiness that not all is lost.

Haein's mother is like most of the boy mommy. She definitely doesn’t hate her daughter but loves her male children…
That is an excellent point if the genders are reversed she lost her daughter instead of the eldest male heir she would not have hated her son. This is realistic it plays into the whole traditional family mindset, a son more valuable than a daughter and why she hangs on to the last son she has. The mother is vile but she is realistic. Sure once she finds out hae-in is ill she will get all emotional and start caring for her daughter, but that does undo the years of abuse, neglect, toxic behavior which obviously everyone will forgive as if it is nothing.

Seon Yul is so funny cos what does he mean he wants to take everything precious from Soo Hyun as if his father…
I agree his revenge make no ethical sense, his father killed a little boy has he no shame. even if the father didn't do it was taking the fall for someone else man stood there mocking the child's death in front of a grieving mother just for that he deserved to lose his head. soon yul is psychotic his family is not the only family, soo hyun had a family too that his father destroyed, I guess revenge grief sees no logic. seon yul does not need to do anything soo hyun has no son, has no real career, and her cheating loser husband is out the exit door, she really has nothing of value that he can take from her other than her life.

Assemblyman's illegitimate son, I guess it's the neighbour's son.
She is in a wealthy neighborhood what is her job with no husband to support that lifestyle. I think this is right prediction.

I think the only way they can resurrect this dying drama is they show that this was TaeOH's plan all along he knew InHa was using him and HyeWon did not love him. The whole I live only for my psycho friend and devoted in love to an emotionally scheming woman for 10 years does not make sense to his type of calculating character. TaeOH knew they were being watched on the terrace but he played along to drive InHa mad and self destruct. He cannot have foreseen the murder but he knew InHa will do something and had contingency plans in place. The impossible heir cannot be the three sons, there is nothing impossible about a son legitimate or illegitimate inheriting a chaebol business, it is a man's world. President is shown to be eccentric from the start he does not love the sons, but has a soft spot for his daughter and he likes TaeOH, they are the impossible heirs. If the writer ends on that note there is some redemption, obviously it cannot salvage everything because the overall writing/direction has been novice, but atleast the end can be memorable.

Question- have we seen HyeWon have flashbacks about TaeOh at any point? TaeOh had that flashback showing all three…
that is a good question, but the writing and direction has been abysmal so far that I can't think it was intentional on their part to show something more nuanced. TaeOh and Huijoo are the only 2 characters who genuinely love hence they remember, but the InHa and HyeWon are cold villains.

Is it believable that three years married couple dont know each other character and habits... especially husband...…
if you are referring to the drinking part, she mentioned she doesn't drink she lives extremely healthy lifestyle, so her husband would not have known about a habit she did not practice any longer. he seemed shocked when seeing her drunk it is something he has never witnessed before. the villain knows because she was probably drinking back in the past and quit by the time she met the ML.

TaeOh is a masochist, did we miss something before, was this explained to us earlier on why he is like this. Why does he want to martyr himself to people who do not care about him, why is he self destructive?

My issue with this drama lies solely in the fact that the writer wants us to care about these characters but does…
perfect summation it is not necessary to like the characters but we have to understand who these people are, and it feels like a blank slate. None of their actions have any weightage, bad or good what is there to care about we don't know these people.

Most are hanging on for LJW sake, no one will deny he is the rising superstar of kdrama land. If you are going to have a long career you will do dramas/movies that are not good, all actors go through this process nobody is an exception. This drama is not good but LJW is gaining experience so all work good or bad is not a loss for him.

The parts written are attrocious for English actors, you will never get a credible English actor to waste their time on such things where not only the pay is low, they get no exposure and no experience, not to mention this adds nothing of value to their resume.

Support your POV, drama is more interesting with realistic characters not caricatures of extremely good people. Even villains feel justified from their POV.

I was cracking up at ML Because of the typical widen eyes ppl complain about the FL...the ML is doing I noticed....more…
If the ML found out his estranged wife is dying and immediately falls back in love with her, and exclaims his undying love for her in the next second that is just dumb because feelings are not a on/off switch. Drama is approaching this from a realistic POV, it takes time to re-establish trust. Also if you are not intimate with your partner for months years, they do not even share the same bed of course it will be damn awkward to see each other naked, hug or even sharing a kiss will feel bizarre so the awkwardness they display is realistic.
Audience watches drama for imaginative compelling plot and character development, likable or good characters are not as necessary as captivating story progression.

my gut feelings tell me the brother wife is not all evil .. I feel like she has some history that's why she is…
I think what could happen is both marriages can mirror each other, the wife is pretending because she thinks her real self will not be accepted but in the process she falls out of love if ever she was in love and now just acts because she is used to the lifestyle. while the lead couple our ML is pretending but he actually loves his wife and falls in love again this will renew their marriage because the FL did say you just have to be yourself accept each other that is love.
On Queen of Tears Mar 16, 2024
the way the drama is structured is that there is a negative character tied to each of the main players, FL has her former lover, grandpa has his mistress, mother has her secretary, brother has his wife. ML is the one that is mostly free his own family are selfish not evil, so they have to figure each other out and save themselves.

Couldnt agree more, like we understand bros been through a lot but to wish for your own wife to die is a bit much…
completely agree his feelings are complex he doesn't want her dead nor does he not love her. he is hurt and she is hurt, he is sensitive so the way he shows it is by wanting to escape the pain and the way she shows it by shutting down emotionally.
On Queen of Tears Mar 16, 2024
the characterization of leads are complex and nuanced, the dark comedy suits the awkward equation between the couple. yes it is possible to be on the verge of divorce, feelings can become so toxic, negative and hateful that you will wish for the other person to be dead but there is a difference between wishing and seeing it actually happen.
it is nice that self serving douchebag characters are not just the rich people on the FL side, the ML side of the family are exasperating, selfish, pathetic just a different degree and in that sense both the ML and FL have things in common surrounded by untrusting family members they have to rely/trust each other.
the drama is well written because there is no clear cut this is a good person with no fault, they are human beings people are complex, families are pain, and love is not easy, marriage is hard.
best character is the aunt love her scenes.

My question is, while I get as a first-time actress, you're probably not going to be very good, BUT why select…
Casting director, producers and directors are more to blame for this debacle than the actor. She was given an opportunity and she took it, a high budget Disney plus show opposite LJW one of the biggest rising stars in KDrama land, who wouldn't want to pounce on such an opportunity. It was the creative heads who should have held credible audition should have known she is not competent for this role, she is young it is not her fault. But seeing how slopping the script is, there is non existent characterization, miscast of the FL is the least of its problems.
