I honestly think it is one of the few shows that maintained its brilliance all throughout the episodes but actually…
I definitely see where you are coming from. It hasn't gotten 'bad' by any means - just less good than when it started out. Right now it is an above average 8.5 but before it was an excellent 9.5. It's still the show I look forward to every week. I just hope the quality of the storyline doesn't keep dropping (I'm honestly so baffled by the clumsy 'kidnapped twice' storyline. It came across so amateurish compared to the rest of the episode).
i think she meant that ML is the illegitimate son of Chairman and since he is competitive he will take away everything…
I'm loving this thread. *rubs hand together*
So to recap....the ultimate messed up family tree may include:
- the grandpa who might be psycho's real dad - candidate Baek who may be a stand-in also - ML who might be the illegitimate son of the grandpa making him the only one actually related to him - or...psycho and ML are actually brothers and they share the same father (grandpa) *shock horror*
side note: psycho keeps calling FL 'eonnie' - does this mean he knows the FL's stepfather is his real father making them step brother and step sister (my theory)??? :p
I got the ick when they had her be kidnapped twice (the way I rolled my eyes). Apart from that, I loved everything else about this episode and think it was a far better episode than the previous one (imo) but as others have said...it was a much higher caliber of show in the beginning. It's teetering on slightly above average now.
Was mom insinuating that Candidate Baek isn't Grandpa's Baek's biological son? That would be one way to explain…
I always sensed she had a past with the FL's stepfather. He seems to have lingering feelings. It would be all kinds of messed up if the psycho was really his son seeing that the psycho was the reason for the car accident that took his son's life. BUT I can't think of any other explanation.....unless the grandpa had his way with psycho's mum and grandpa is actually the dad....that would be even more messed up.
Who is it?Who has been hiding their real motive from the beginning?
If it's anyone it would be gramps who has been pushing them to bond as a family. Although, if there is a second season, I think we'll be surprised as the things that are not as they seem are even more not as they seem.
it was going great until ep 7 where the ML wanted to "sacrifice a few for the greater good". I just can't believe…
I don't think it was dumb writing. It's obvious that this slow spiral into become that which he is fighting against in the name of his 'just cause', is the point, and it's why he was doomed to fail. It will be interesting to see how dark they'll make his character go next season before he realises he's going down the same path as the Front Man.
I echo many of the comments below. 7.9 is a laughably low score. Sure it's no season 1 but it's in the 8's at least. Side note, I knew ML would not succeed when he said about sacrifice for the greater good. That scene was so chilling because it showed that the ying-yang relationship of the ML and the Front Man were two sides of the same coin. I do really like the exploration into the topic of the best of humanity (compassion, value for life, hope, bringing out the good in others) vs the worst of humanity (greed, selfishness, barbarism, disregard for human life and working against one's own best interest). It reminds me of today's political climate.
Kad is actually a decent actor and carried the series imo. Although James is not a great actor, it didn’t bother me so much until the story started to ring hollow in the last 4 episodes or so. This was never the greatest series to begin with but it was somewhat enjoyable in the beginning. I can see with a better story, Jame’s acting would not be a major issue. All in all, I see a lot of potential for Kad.
