I’m glad they addressed how ridiculous it would be to have one ring (with no magical powers) be able to control everyone and give the wearer ultimate power in society.
There were many strong performances from War, some goofy stuff like the unconvincing fight scenes in the finale, and some truly hilarious scenes. All in all, I like watching this couple because War is a strong actor and Yin complements him so well. Next, I’d love to see them do a very mature/grown up storyline that has a lot of angst and a serious topic.
I’d also like to see Mark and Prom (Arun and Tattoo) as leads in their own series. Mark is strangely captivating and charismatic on screen despite his acting not being that strong. I don’t know how to explain it…his face is very emotive and connects emotionally. Both he and Prom together on screen are quite magnetic. They kinda have main character aura.
I also enjoyed the performances of grandma and Toi. I like discovering new talent/stand-out supporting characters.
Thank you for this lovely drama one of my favorites this year. In these divided times and anxiety of politics…
Sometimes someone captures what you want to say so succinctly, when you yourself don’t have the words. In particular what you said about the sadness staying with you for days. It was the same for me.
One of my top show last year, but not sure if it needs a season 2 as the story was wrapped up quite well already.…
I sort of understand how you feel. A part of me feels this way too. The same with Squid Games, but it’s only because the first season was so good, if the second season is not handled with the same level of care and storytelling, it would feel disappointing. However, there is always room for more in a story if the creators understand the stories they are wanting to tell. Because I love these stories so much, I’d like to see more, even with the risk of being disappointed.
I'm pretty sure it's a taste thing. Personally, I preferred the adults' stories. I would zone out when it's about…
I got the sense that it was like this for about half the viewers. They either enjoyed the parents’ story only or the kids’ story only. I definitely get it. For some reason, both the adults and the kid’s stories struck a cord with me and I enjoyed both: the adults for their emotional stories and the kids for their bravery and coming-of-age superhero story. I think both balanced the series really well and was like the ying and yang.
I wish I had read the comments before watching this. All through episode 9 I was sobbing and I didn’t know why (but I think I knew what was coming). This is why I need to prepare myself for sad endings. I was not prepared for this one. Had to take a mental health day because this had too many topics that hit close to home.
I’m enjoying the series so far and this episode seems like a natural end to me. Why are there 15 episodes? I have a bad feeling the remaining episodes are just going to drag the series out unnecessarily.
Saw the title and poster and thought it was a Taiwanese production. Very surprised that it’s a Thai bl. I’m intrigued. The premise sounds really good and it does have the vibe of a Taiwanese bl, which can only be a good thing. Looking forward to this one. We may have another Thai heavy hitter on our hands. 🙂
