I also think 16 is too young but itās technically not a crime since the age of consent in Thailand is 15, which makes it all the more weird that they chose him but werenāt prepared to let him do kissing scenes etc (btw I donāt want to see a 16 year old doing nsfw scenes). Itās clear they are avoiding nsfw scenes because of possible backlash from international audiences. In the past they had no problem doing this once they hit the age of consent (15 years). Just bad decisions all round. I was honestly enjoying it up until this episode. I think both leads are decent actors and they should have either kept it with no implied kisses/bedroom scenes at all or hire mature actors and go all out. *sigh*
I usually watch the first episode of a new show to decide if itās captivating enough to tune in every week or wait until all the episodes air and then binge.
With this one I think I will wait.
I wonāt be too harsh with my first impression because it is only the first episode and it wasnāt terrible.
Initial thoughts:
Weāre seeing more and more of this handsome vs geeky/plain looking pairing. Maybe itās a trend now because of the success of PitBabe.
The actor playing Patt is a decent actor and is sort of carrying the show at the moment. The Elis actor is a bit green. Perhaps they hoped that with one being good looking and one being a decent actor, it would balance it out.
SIDE NOTE: I personally think the actor playing Patt is cute. I really like his smile and the character is endearing.
The editing and camera angles feel very amateurish. There are some scenes that look like they were filmed from the āsideā and ābelowā from a weird angle, like a hidden camera/ student budget feel.
The timeline is very confusing so far. Iām not sure what has happened yet or if itās showing flashes of the future. There is also no clear distinction between the end of a flashback and the return to present day. I have to look at the clothes they are wearing to make an educated guess. It doesnāt help that Patt is sometimes wearing the same suit on multiple different days.
Movies like - silence and hope i could not watch. Its too dark for me and it will make me mad. I looked into the…
I am the same tbh, but Iāve gotten to a point in my life where I realise that the least I can do for survivors and victims is to hear their story. Iāve watched Silence and itās on my list of personal faves but I could never watch it again. Once was enough.
I was ready for Kla's demise but not daddy Korn, too. š„ŗ It was natural for things to end up like this. Kla…
To be fair, there are few innocent ones in this drama. Only people who did more or less bad things compared to other characters. Fasaiās father and Tonkla murdered people. Great and Tyme were no angels but they didnāt kill anyone in cold blood.
We had a look at Tymeās timeline during his near death. He was brought back though before he got stuck there…
At the end Great was messing with Tyme by pretending they might still be in the 4minutes timeline but it was a gotcha moment. I don't know if you've ever seen The OA but the alternate timelines and the doc's near death/coma research kinda reminds me of that.
I am still confused about what happened in the last episode...if someone could explain to me i would really appreciate…
We had a look at Tymeās timeline during his near death. He was brought back though before he got stuck there and taken into the ambulance. He recovers and later we see that Great has recovered too but unfortunately Tonkla and Korn died while Korn was trying to help him escape. When Win shot Tonkla by accident, a distraught Korn shoots himself. Win was aiming for Korn but Tonkla pushed Korn out of the way).
We see in the gallery scene how this all started and how Great and the other 4minutes lady got the 4 minutes āpowerā. It was gifted to them by the lady doing the exhibition. She inadvertently tells us why in her art āpresentationā but itās unclear why she chose those two. It seems they were sent there purposely. The only thing I can think of is that she must be some sort of all-knowing being (a God-like figure).
At the end both Tyme and the audience werenāt sure they got out of the 4minutes timeline but turns out Great was just messing with Tyme/us. Iām glad they included that because I would have finished the series being suspicious as to whether they were really in the real timeline or just a beautiful dream.
This series was captivating enough for me to watch it while it was airing. I donāt know what the finale has in store but I can already say it has given us a solid time travel, mature bl that Iāve been wanting for a long time.
The ending was okay. Another J (not really BL) that I can't give a 10 though, not even a 9 really, just an 8,…
I have to agree. I was thinking along the same lines. Usually Iām not bothered by this but weāve just had two back to back JBLs that have left me wanting but like you said, itās a solid production with an enjoyable story and strong acting. I sincerely hope this doesnāt turn out like the current trend of Thai BLs where because the industry has gotten bigger, actors are using it as a stepping stone into the mainstream but they are uncomfortable doing BL content.
*sigh*
