Good actors, interesting story, not at all interested in the romance part. Idk, I don't have much to say. Was not overly impressed, but enjoyed the ride.
I am not sure why so many people talk about their age difference. Why do you care? I mean, they are actors. It's their job, man. It's not like they're supposed to be dating in real life or anything. They just play their role, they might have a good relationship on set as colleagues, but most actors never see each other again after their work is done. Anyway, nice drama.
Hmm, let me put it this way... I had certain expectations at first, but what I ended up with... I'm not entirely sure. Well, I enjoyed it to a certain degree. But it wasn't anything special, that's for sure. 7/10
Not sure. You may have to wait a while. It might take some time for the free option to appear. In my opinion, though, WeTV isn't that expensive. You can even get a subscription for half the price on certain websites. So, yeah...
It's kinda... idk, the actors are great and the characters are mostly likeable, but... Well, first of all I expected more comedy, it's funny at times, but definitely not "you'll laugh so much that the chances of choking and dying are high" as someone said in the review. And secondly, the story is a bit inconsistent and draggy. I don't have that feeling where you are watching and can't stop, where you constantly want to know "what's going to happen next". To be honest, I expected more.
I like it, I guess. The story is captivating (although somewhat predictable), the characters are intriguing, and their chemistry is great. However, there are a few minor details that I find a bit questionable. I am also not a fan of the family drama that is present here, to some extent. So, I wouldn't call it perfect, but overall, it's a very good drama.
Somehow I love it, which is unexpected because I was very sceptical. Quite unique drama. Still watching, though,…
So... It may not be a masterpiece and I probably won't watch this drama again, but I enjoyed the story. There were very few typical tropes and plenty of intriguing ideas. The characters were decent, the main couple - their chemistry was okay, not sure why people say there was no chemistry. I really liked by the way how they implemented the concept of forbidden love here. Overall, I would recommend it. Nice one time watch. Honestly, I found it more enjoyable than a lot of the overrated Korean dramas out there.
People say it all seems artificial, but it's all right with me. True, the story is pretty basic, nothing unique, though I'm still watching, but so far it's fun and quite well done. Idk, I like it, even the first episode that so many complained about.
Okay, so I'm still watching, but so far it's very funny. The only thing I don't really like is the romance, it feels unnecessary to me. Well, that's probably because I am just not in a right mood for any kind of romance at the moment. Anyway, it's good.
Okay, great characters played by great actors, decent story, sometimes though it dragged on a bit tbh. But well, it's normal for chinese dramas, so whatever. I can forgive all of that for a truly happy, beautiful ending. Haha. Cause I freaking hate tragic endings in xianxia, they tend to be tragic just for the sake of it.
I’m at ep 25 and I still can’t see any chemistry between the ML and FL. The ML has more chemistry with Ah…
I'm pretty sure that's the problem with the original source. I mean, they adapted from the manhua. I never read it, but I watched anime based on the manhua, same problem. They created, imo, perfect chemistry between him and Ah Lan in donghua, while there was nothing interesting about Bai Cai and everything was kinda based on the fact that she is supposedly his wife or whatever. No chemistry between her and MC, some weird romance out of nowhere, frustrating naivety and somehow even a weird love triangle! Another dude just falls in love also for no reason, and he is a god of course. They just gave her some powers later on to make her not completely useless. I mean, in general the story isn't that bad, but this romance part is some of the most frustrating and ridiculous shit I've ever seen lol.
This is surprisingly good, lol. Although it is indeed slow and takes a while to understand a lot of things, and I kept thinking about quitting this drama while watching the first two episodes, but well... It actually has a very decent story and very interesting and complex characters. And by the way, I liked the romance here. Not sure about everyone else, but it suits my personal taste.
I read the novel and I watched donghua. I liked both. Now watching the drama, one word: amazing.
Some people complain about the bad romance, I don't really understand why, because this is not a romance drama in the first place. The little romance that does exist is not annoying or boring. If you try to add more romance than there is here, the story will probably lose its integrity. Friendship is a much more important theme here.
As for Qian Luo, I don't understand why some people complain as well. I think Lin Bo Yang looks suit the character very well. She is not some noble lady, but an airheaded martial artist, lol. And her character, although not my favourite, deserves to exist.
Also, this drama avoids soooo many annoying tropes and clichés that you can usually see in Wuxia / Xianxia.
Decent story, very good chemistry between the leads, their characters are generally very likeable, probably one of the best romances I've seen in period dramas, but some things tbh make little sense, story is not without flaws.
I don't know what I think of this ending. I'm happy that it was a happy ending, but at the same time I thought "well, okay, fine, I expected that much". The dead Jung Jin Man just did not make any sense. Overall I liked it though. 8/10. Waiting for the season two, apparently.
Some cases are kinda stupid though...

So... Well, 8.5/10
