The presumption of innocence is a cornerstone of any properly working justice system for good reason - it protects everyone. So innocent until proven guilty, rumours are false, until proven otherwise. False rumors, which some like to spread casually just to satisfy their gossip cravings, are as harmful as false evidence that evildoers try to use to prove their innocence. Because they don't help solve cases, they don't make anyone safer, and they can totally wreck someone's life even if they turn out to be innocent.
So yeah, WHAT A DISGUSTING WORLD WE LIVE IN.

This is kinda different from the novel, but I don't really want to compare anyway. Although I do for sure like the fact that main character starts not as 14-years old boy xD. Looks good for now, I only watched few episodes tho.
I totally agree with the comment below. Well from the comments I can guess that the ending is open-ended and the story is not finished, but I can deal with that kind of ending as long as the journey was good. The production quality of this is just insane. At least for now xD
Finally finished the first season. Tbh, there were two characters I wish were done differently: Pei Xi Jun (I still couldn't manage to like her, although at the very least she's not as annoying as in the first episodes) and Xue Huan - idk, I just don't like this kid lol, whatever. Otherwise, it's pretty good. Both main leads did a fine job and the cases were interesting to watch.
I feel like pacing can be improved, there were little imperfections here and there... Romance was annoying, imo. Neither I like the actress who played Zhan Shi Qi, not do I like the character. . But it's pretty interesting to watch overall, there were some unexpected twists as well, this drama does a fine job when it comes to murder mystery and considering that this was combined with wuxia, my favourite genre... 7/10.
They took away the only strength FL had (her martial arts) for half a year just like that in a first episode... Well, I don't really find her idiotic character annoying, rather funny (at least for now).
All in all a very good drama, and I think it really deserves this rating (unlike some reverse harem drama with the same rating lol). But to be honest, some of the moments were done rather lazily. So I wouldn't call it perfect.
Ending... I want to think the ending is a happy one after watching the special episode xD.
I'm not sure why some people are criticizing it so much. Sure, "Blood of Youth" was amazing, but it's rare to find writers who can consistently create masterpieces. While there are some weak moments, and it's not quite as good as "Blood of Youth," it's still a solid work overall. Except for them skipping the fight scenes in the second half for no reason (which I think was not the case in the novel), or maybe there was a reason: saving budget, lol, everything else is as good as it can be. That's my take. Although, I didn't try hard as some of you to understand the proper sequence of events, I just watched it with my brains turned off, for a simple enjoyment.
Although it's too early to talk about the ending, I'm pretty sure we're heading for a bittersweet ending or an open ending if they were planning a sequel. You can check out Hou Minghao's Wrap-up Vlog for "Fangs of Fortune" on youtube as well btw if you want, it has some meaning. While the story's been great so far, it's also following some classic tropes - like Zhao Yuan Zhou's character. It's a powerful trope when done right... When such characters finally open their hearts only to be lost, it hits way harder than a happy ending would. I think the writers will stick to this path for maximum impact.
Since when do I watch before the show actually ends lol xD. Kinda scary for an avid avoider of sad endings. Anyway, seems good to me for now. I only watched the first episode but the concept is super intriguing. I love this kind of story, too bad so few of them are done right.
Since Song Zu Er's tax issues accusations are dropped... So maybe we'll see a second season. I hope we do. I want to know the ending xD, but I don't want to read the novel . Cause I read wiki... Even that little girl they met in the beginning becomes his wife in the novel... by the end. lol. Not my cup of tea, you know. Well, it's nothing really surprising, so never mind that.
The drama was pretty good overall. Xu Hai Qiao is a great actor, which didn't surprise me at all. Song Zu Er had more of a supporting role - nothing special about her performance, but her character was really likeable, so there's that. The comedy was on point - I found myself laughing a lot.
As for the things I didn't like... Among the good guys, Zhan Ninger got on my nerves quite a bit, to be honest. Like half her screen time was just her moping about love troubles. I get why it was there, but I could've done without it completely. The whole "romance" aspect of this drama is pretty weird, mainly because it's obviously adapted from a harem web novel. The villains behavior was repetitive. And towards the end, the male lead started acting pretty irrationally, which was kind of frustrating.
Watched the first episode, hiqh quality production and a promising story with a decent cast... But knowing China, they WILL NOT stay faithful to the novel in terms of the ending... Hope I'm wrong lol.
Far from perfect, but decent show overall... The comedy was nice. Some cases were super predictable, while others quite unique. Also, I have to say that this - "The six-member A-Team is not your average detective agency, as each of them brings their own unique skills to the table" - is not a correct description... Because Samo is actually the one who solves most of the cases. And Xu Hai is the one who does the most fine job with acting among the leads, imo.
Also, for those who are interested, yes, there is a slight romance. Although I don't like pairings, it's not badly done.

Muyun Sheng's maid is such a dumb character lol.
Muru Han Jiang is seemingly stuck in your typical annoying love triangle, where surely there is a dishonest prince for the girl he likes...
Shuo Feng He Ye storyline is kinda... Ugh, extremely cruel. That the softest way to describe it.
Anyway, so far so good.
