First 15 episodes were great, then story becomes somewhat messy, but still decent. 8/10

morally grey characters rarely get a happy ending in chinese dramas. and so far, they look as morally grey to me.

I don't like transmigration genre in general. But in Chinese dramas - especially. Cause it always ends in this one specific way. Sadly, though, it seems that the industry thinks otherwise, as there are more and more transmigration stories coming out lately.

Anyway, except this small problem, the story is OK. It's not super good, but enough to enjoy.

To each their own, I guess, but personally I am getting what I was expecting. I don't think its underperforming. While it's not perfect, there is a lack of good wuxia that are not romantic fantasy at their core, so I am enjoying this quite a bit.

I think they spoiled this in the trailer already lol.

Friendship, yes. Slight romance, maybe. But not a BL, that's for sure.

Seems like it's gonna be a proper wuxia for once, judging by the trailer. + Cheng Yi. So I have high expectations.

You shouldn't watch this for romance. Technically there is, but it’s quite minor and ultimately takes a back seat to mystery, martial arts and friendship. Fang Duo Bing has a small romance subplot, Li Lian Hua has one as well, albeit a sad one. You could say there is a female character who likes Li Lian Hua in the second half of the drama as well, but even if she does, it's mostly one-sided for a reason. It's just wouldn't make any sense for a character such as Li Lian Hua to pursue romance of any kind at the point of life he is in at the beginning of the story.

Typical cdrama situation. Oh, he/she can definitely differentiate between right or wrong, so I am just not gonna tell them anything or even worse - i am gonna lie about the whole situation. I mean, it's not surprising for humans to do so, but it's still frustrating. The idea to keep their identities hidden from each other until the end was a bad idea, imo.

I can stomach love triangle with one obsessive-possessive and unhinged evil dude, but here there are two of them at the same time lol. Couldn't they come up with anything better...?

Unrequited love triangles are part of nearly every Chinese drama within the romance genre. Nothing we can do about it, lol.

There's this underlying assumption that men, especially successful ones, are more likely to be guilty of abuse or misconduct - which isn't entirely unfounded given real patterns of behavior, but it also creates a situation where any accusation against a male celebrity is treated as probably true from the get-go by many. And the legal system is often completely inadequate for dealing with this kind of reputational warfare. That's why.

Cute and funny. I don't usually watch contemporary romances, but this one is great. 9/10

9/10. Unexpectedly, this is really good. Hilarious, has some deep moments, memorable characters. According to rumors, there will be also be a second season, but unfortunately, not with the full cast.

This series is based on Daomu Biji: Restart (parts 1 and 2), and is fully completed. So I doubt there will be a new season. The overall reception was good and ratings on Douban are relatively high. But the problem is, they changed the source material a bit too much, making some characters more prominent, adding romance, etc. So while there is enough source material (like 3 novels that follow), it will most likely either be a completely standalone series with different actors that will not include changes made in this series, or somebody will have to do quite a bit of work to integrate all the changes they made properly, which is not an easy job. Bisedes, many fans were protesting against these changes, which also has an impact.

Overall it's a nice watch with a decent story and great acting. I liked the romantic subplot, contrary to what people wrote in the comments, I found it interesting and funny at times. First part is indeed better, but it's the same thing with most chinese dramas. 9/10.

With a novel ending on this remark: "For this lifetime, Shen Zaiye would have to listen to her every word.", well, obviously, no, he doesn't love any of them.
