So fl's family was really at fault or was it all a misunderstanding?, if not why did the wei family even agree…
From my understanding, they were partially at fault because, as allies, they were probably supposed to help them, but they didn't for political reasons and because they didn't want to fight and die as the situation was not good for Wei family at that time anyway. The reason why they decided on the marriage 14 years later is very simple: politics. It's not unusual in history for countries to be allies, then enemies, and then allies again.
I mean, I only watched 4 episodes, but so far the story is rather simple. Decent enough to keep my attention, sure, but no more than that. Lots of popular actors, top-notch CGI, but otherwise I don't think there's anything special about this drama. Maybe my expectations were a bit too high, well, whatever.
I like it so far. Obviously, I doubt much of this is historically accurate. It also has a lot of simplifications, for example, most villains here are rather one dimensional characters, and khitans are portrayed as some kind of orcs. But it's a decent enough drama to watch if you don't try to think too deeply...
I don't think it's going to be the main plot, but I'd be surprised if there wasn't any romance at all. Won't be a bad thing for a change though, but statistically, most Chinese historical dramas have romance, so, well...
I stopped watching on 2nd ep because of FLs acting. Does it improve later?
I mean, it's hard for me to say because I generally liked the character and the acting was fine for me. But the answer to your question is probably no, she does not.
Everyone is talking about how bad FL is, lol. I don't think she is that bad, but the overall situation is somewhat similar to Joy of Life.
They're adapting this from a harem novel, so tbh what romance are we talking about? Unless they make significant changes to the plot (similar to My Heroic Husband), there is not much to talk about.
Since that is the case, and they want to remove the harem aspect and replace it with a romance subplot, they could have picked any of the heroines as the FL. And replace "romance" with "friendship" for others. But for some reason, similar to Joy of Life, they decided to choose a character who might not be bad per se, but is much less interesting compared to others, at least in my opinion.
Hmm. First I though this would be a transmigration into the past story. I like those. Although the magic element…
Was thinking the same thing, but since the show doesn't take itself very seriously, and the comedy aspect is to my liking, it doesn't really bother me that much.
So the ending wll be he wakes up again at the mysterie game house and after some time he will see the FL again…
I hope not, because I don't like endings like that, but that's probably how it's going to be, with the Chinese government having something against time travel from modern to historical times.
I'm not sure if it's because of the drama (since I haven't checked its previous ranking), but the original novel has made its way into Douban's top 5 popular historical novels. This isn't surprising though, given how well-written it actually is.
Can someone tell me if the novel has happy ending? And if this is bromance?
Hard to say. Because ultimately, if you consider the sequel "The Blood of Youth," it has a rather bittersweet and somewhat ambiguous ending for the main characters.
