If it was my country i would be as offended.Maybe you dont have any pride and dont respect your country
lol israel is doing alright. one might say punching above way above their weight. if you recall a time they let anything like this slide let me know. in any case they would be crybabies if they couldn't do anything about it. of course i will be sad if brands will start to dissociate from people involved, but i can understand their financial predicament.

well they dont. it is the largest market (for luxury and premium goods) on our planet (at least as far as spendable…
sorry i forgot you have attention span of a gold fish.
but in fairness i had a good laugh.

simpler terms, a lot of chinese people have a lot of money which they are prepared to spend on luxury and premium goods. thereby creating the largest market for those premium and luxury goods in the world.
Numbers vary between 33 & 46 % of global market, but it's bigger than any other country and probably quite a few countries combined.

But in any case back to the original point that the op made saying that chinese are hypersensitive and they should "just get over it"
My answer was : "no they don't".
because brands which pay 100s of millions in endorsements and advertisements can't afford to do so, and yeah celebrities who make most of their money from endorsement and adds need to mind "their business well".

btw just advertisement market is 201 billion dollars, that excludes direct brand endorsements: https://www.campaignasia.com/article/power-shift-in-chinas-ad-market-local-agencies-lose-ground-ebiquity/503733

i got to admit i had a good laugh, at the stats you sent.
first of all it covers only oecd so obviously purchasing power isn't considered.
i'm in ireland, disposable income shows ~$32K pa, alright ~$2.7K per month,
that's a price of a Gucci Beatrix large tote bag (2.6K euro)
i can bitch about prices in ireland for fucking ages.
but, i do know that house maintenance prices in US are 3 times higher for house maintenance.
and that's where even i go like ... how much.

gucci sales in ireland: 5.46 million euro (https://www.rte.ie/news/business/2023/1204/1420106-sales-at-gucci-ireland-soar-by-33-to-5-46m-last-year/)

gucci sales in shanghai: 7.7 billion euro ( https://chinaretailwatch.com/p/gucci-shutters-two-shanghai-stores)
lol it's closing stores there, hang on wasn't there some controversy a little while ago...
https://www.thedrum.com/news/2025/04/16/tradewartok-what-chinese-factories-claims-about-herm-s-dior-gucci-mean-luxury-brands
...no wayyy...

Alright, next " how silly it is that China continues to refer to itself as Communist"
I honestly don't care how or what that system is called.
Taxes in germany hover around 60% what's that? capitalism?

Finally, you keep deliberately misgendering me isn't it illegal where you are? But wahtever, so far your only verifiable expertise is butt-plugs and lube.
I really hope that you're just another ... wait nah not yet.. i really hope you're not recovering from a stroke or some serious accident in which case i sincerely apologize.

Just curious what's your country of origin? I'm wondering because you seem to be in a position to look down on…

lol sry it was supposed to be masters. in any case the man can read individual words but when they are put together his mind goes blank and starts to make up whatever he think it means. so he doesn't know what a fact is and i doubt that he graduated from anywhere. but then again he could be recovering from a stroke or some other brain damage. which could also explain his obsessive/aggressive behaviour.

Well according to him he has degree in journalism from top US university and 30 years of experience. Even if he will out it in his profile I'm unlikely to believe it. But all lists dedicated to good looking Korean boys and watchlist to match is a dead giveaway.

Pun was unintended, but now I'll say it was 😂

well gender listed as male, by the look of it he is big time into korean boys. which is fair enough, different strokes and all that jazz, although when i asked about something that should be in his area of expertise he kinda got defensive. dunno if he is trapped in a closet or identifies as something else. anyway i'll play along with whatever.

he seems to be dwelling in his imaginary world for quite a long time now.

I'm confused about why Jun Ji Hyun took the blame though. Is it because she said the line that the writer wrote?…
well tough call. her line was sketchy at best and it was something tha she could have influence over. if the backlash is primarily over portraying china now as it was 40 years ago then she''s coul dbe collateral damage. anyway im pretty sure it'll be alright.

We thought we had someone sensitive nah it start there first!! she is still a lovely lady she did nothing but…
if she was younger & inexperienced it would be too much of an ask to show some cop-on. like if it's a disney production there's no way they were going to show china even in a neutral light. so she is in her 40s, has her own studio, she did some high profile work so .. she could've easily influenced for her lines to be rephrased.dunno.

most korean actors and actress are ignorant with no political awarness ,, indont think the actress even knew what…
dunno. she is 44 not 14 and she worked there before so doubt she would be one of those ignorant actresses. like even if hollywood will create pretty much alternative versions of their films just to get into chinese market then yeah it's worth to be aware even if screenwriter wrote it that way. obviously a moot point if it's not her target market.
