Dear Coupranghae, I know it's practice to dub because of the thousands of dialects in Mandarin. Which does not mean it has to be made sloppy. And the soundeffects were also made sloppy - not balanced. And that is an distraction which breaks the immersion and that is a no go in my book.
If a chinese series is done for a non-chinese market, there would not be a need to dub, because it would not matter if the Mandarin is standard or not (maybe except Singapore and Taiwan). It's also practice to have chinese subtitles anyways. Of course they could dub it for the visual impaired or blind people. I don't know if "Stay With Me (2023)" was dubbed or not, at least I did not notice it or at least I do not remember that I noticed it. So quality is key.
So, I don't care if they dub it or not, I only care if the quality is met. And they did not.
Welcome. If you don't understand a series or episode, I would recommand to rewatch it again... because if you have to wait week for week your memory can be fuzzy. Binge-watching a whole series does help.

The problem was not the "mining" and "pollution" - that alone would have been enough - the problem was a) It's just a ZeeNunew show, the side couples are extras without depth, b) the revenge of the prince which took 20 years... and the whole scene was badly executed. It was from a 60ties TV-show, where such crap was deemed good enough.

First: Even if it's much work, don't forget when a Thai BL airs it is already paid for. That's why we get slapped up to three ads per episode. When you think further, they have dozens of fan-meet where a ticket can cost up to $200/€172.50. Then there are the DVD box sets (yes, it's 2025 but it's still DVD) and other overpriced merch. They make a ton of money. If you want to see the concerts of Nunew or Zee live per stream you pay around $50/€45 just to watch it.
Second: I do write about the actors and I did not find a fault with them. Just that they can't shine with a script so bad. See for example "Fourever You" -> Earth: terrible, Pond: terrible. Watch the same actors in Suntiny or Reset. A difference like between night and day. (Even when you will not watch Suntiny.)
Third: They cut a large part of Ramil story for no reason, because in the novel all the couples are evenly spread. But of course they made it just a ZeeNunew show. And of course the conflict between Ramil and his father was a no show, the Prince from the other country was just a sloppy 5 minutes scene without much substance.

The problem with the rating is, that it overrates most shows. you have 1-10, so please please use it. Otherwise we will get shit production all the time (which is often the case with Thai shows).
If you mean Suntiny, yes, that was really mixed. At least I know what they tried to do, but in TNP I have no clue what they wanted. Just to tell us democracy is better?
Which is not the case btw. Democracy does not work as well as Dictatorships do not work. But some work better (see China) compared to others. And nowadays many democracies are that only by name, but are dictatorships more or less and the USA is on best way to go there.
Of course I don't know enough about enviromental issues in Thailand, but they forbid smoking on the beach - which is insane for me - because you could take the waste with you. But they are using an insane amount of plastics (everywhere in Asia) especially for take outs etc which is not forbidden. At least the EU is regulating that but not enough imho. Yes cigarette stubs can make the beach ugly, but plastic cups and aluminium cans do the same.

4.5 is too much imho, it is (a galaxy) far far away from medicore (5.5)... 3 is generous... but 2 would have been valid as well... I still hate it, that I can not rate with a 0 or 0.5, because some shows would deserve it, especially the rewatch value. I will never ever watch this series again.
