It's your opinion that he was very unlikeable... I find it's the opposite... He is naiv and inexperienced, which can happen if you grow up in a rural area and not in a big city. But he is kind and he is curious to learn. After a year in Tokiy he is not that naiv anymore and knows what he wants...

In a stressful world slowpaced shows are a gem which should be appreciated imho. While it's slow it's not boring, compared to for example "We are" - that was slow and boring because they could tell the story in half as much episodes. 🤣

And he did promise his grandpa to go hiking with him even before Taishin came into the picture, of course he had to go. It's his only relevant family he has left.

at least much better compared to "Cooking Crush" and the non comedy scenes are also well done. Just the comedic overacting is a bit much....
