I would say humor can be universal but we don't need the sounds if a scene is really funny., that's what the shows in the 80ties started in the US which background laughter on cue which I never liked. Last Twilight had weak and lazy writing for the show while there intension was good. it was executed in a mass market compatible format. And I remember thai shows having bad sound as well and it's still an issue when they are wearing their microphones under their clothing which is always annoying when they hug. Due to the "custom" of shipping thai shows go more to the fans because their number one goal is to earn lots of money especially with merch and fan meets where fangirls also show their toxic side especially in social media or even here. That's also the reason many show have fan-service in it where it's not needed to transport the story itself.

Yeah, because Thai BLs are mostly "safe". They don't ask for thinking for yourself. Most thai fangirls will never watch "Happy of the End", of course not. But they will not watch this show either because it is not distributed internationally.
