Happily (or not?) I am not asian, but the pressure parents project to their children is unbearable at times even in western culture. And because that's so, nothing really changes.

To discuss about a teenager doing acting in a BL is so irrelevant compared to all the other stuff. And I don't get it why people do need to have an opinion about it and do need to vent it to the internet for everyone to see it. But if that actor would be 3 years older, nobody would say a word and if they had steamy scenes most would praise the series regardless of the story. Which happens here all the time, because people don't think about the story and just enjoy the hot steamy scenes...

When I think about it, many parents force their kids to go to a specific school or faculty of university which in south east asia is still a much bigger problem than kissing an adult imho. It's a theme in lots of asian dramas but I never saw an outcry how bad such parents are. Who does protect the children against shitty parents? Mostly only the law, but the law can only help if other people notice and help but many will close their eyes and ignore it. That's a much much much bigger problem.

We have no right to judge anyone as long it's done with understanding of the consequences and it's not a power gap or any other abuse. So if he wants to play the role, he has the right to do so. In this series, the younger one looks older and the older one looks much younger.

So please do not easily judge. Also to define "child". Brain development goes up to 25. So everyone under would be child but some are wiser and mature in a young age and some will never be, also an individuell thing. I read the same because of the age difference in the series of "Absolut Zero".... It's perception regaredless of the real age. For me he looks much older than 16.
