In the novel, the ML returns to the real world first and grows up there, so by the time the FL finally comes back, they’re basically around the same age mentally and physically. No weird age gap romance.

It’s a happy ending because the ML demon fox finally gets his ultimate wish, to be by the FL’s side. It’s bittersweet since he had to suffer all over again just to reach that point. In the end, none of them are immortal anymore they’re just normal humans. We even see them again as young friends, and they get a happy ending together. I won’t spoil how he and the FL met, but their story is seriously so beautiful. Some parts hurt so bad, and some parts just make your heart flutter. <3 I’m not great at describing spoilers lol, so I hope other users can help explain it better. I hope you enjoy this drama!
