It's a love it or hate it show. If you have seen You are my Glory, you'll understand what I mean. You are my Glory starts off great, then gets tangled up in angst and science stuff, before settling down to an ok romance series. The angst in Our Glamorous time isn't much, but the drama over business, clothing design, and such can get burdensome to some. I enjoyed the series.
I enjoyed this drama. I thought the murder mystery/business conspiracy was pretty well done. But while the murder plot was sort of resolved the business conspiracy was left hanging. The relationship between the reporter and the detective was nicely done, though I think a few more romantic moments would have sweetened the romantic side of the show a bit more. So if looking for a romance show, this may not be for you. But a murder mystery, who done it, it was interesting.
This show is based on Badminton/Tennis/sports business. After watching it, it reminded me of the Kdrama Start Up. Both are considered "romance" series, but they are kinda light on it. Nothing But you does have more romance than start up, as the leads take a very long time to develop their relationship. If you like slow burn shows, with some romance, this is one of those. It's not a "fuzzy, lovey dovey" series, but it has those rare moments.
I feel that 21 eps was way to short to properly flesh out the main characters relationship with each other. Thanks to flashbacks we know the leads had some sort of relationship in high school. But how deep was that relationship, were they just buddies, or did they have feelings for each other? Because of their early interactions as adults on the series, I think they were closer than friends while in school, though maybe on the cusp of being romantic friends. But again, that was never explored. Then the last episode. Did she give up chasing her career and money because of the close call with death to spend more time with him? Did he also cut back on his work to spend more time with her? Instead we get the return of the Goose and it's partner, and the question is unanswered. We know the secondary couple got married, but things were left hanging for the main couple. In my mind, I feel that she moved back to her hometown and focused on the green built medical device development, so they could be together and he wouldn't have to stop doing what he does. But that is so typical, the woman giving up her dreams so she can keep relationship with her partner. Did he give up[ anything?
I watched this after watching Will love in the Spring. There is a few slight similarities between the two. In both with have main leads that meet while in high school and then part ways, only to met again years later [ Fated lovers]. Then the fact that in both series the relationship between the leads faced several challenges before settling down to a loving one. I typically don't like time jumps, but for plot advancement, Begin again did need a time jump. Over all a decent show that sometimes drags on the cliché plots, but has sweeet romantic moments amongst all the couples.
Zhang Yu Xi, I think does a good job in this more mature adult series [late 20's mid 30's]. I enjoyed watching it, and thought the cast and crew did a good job.
loved this series. Finally have a relationship series that looks at the pressures of careers, not opening up to your partner, not communicating can impact a relationship. the 3rd party really wasn't an issue, inlaws weren't an issue. Though the young sister was annoying at first.
I felt that the series was pretty good. One the negative side it has the same problem many Kdramas have and that is a less than desired final episode. But over all, I enjoyed the theme of the show, that we need to live life as death can happen at anytime. Don't put off something because you maynot be able to do it.
First couple of episodes was a rapid downward spiral for the female lead. Then enters the typical "cold, money throwing, know it all" male lead. That said, I loved the chemistry between the two lead actors. When they were fighting or being romantic, they just felt natural with what ever they were doing on the screen. I thought it an enjoyable watch, and sometimes in the later part of the series, I did shed a tear or two.
I did enjoy Queen of Tears, even though the last two episodes seemed to be lacking a warmth all the other episodes had, it was still good. There are no happy endings in life, as we all most face the loss of loved ones as death takes them from us, and us from them. All we get are happy moments, and the best we can do is try to make the happy times be more numerous than the bad times. So to me the ending was very realistic, bittersweet and fulfilling. As it depicted a life that had been shared, loved, and enjoyed to the end.
I walked into this, thinking it was a romance drama. By the end, I realize the scope was more on the family. I enjoyed the series and thought it pretty good.
I actually enjoyed this show until ep 24. EP 24 was a big 4th wall break, change of the entire series episode. But up until then, I enjoyed the show. I had forgotten the 1st ep... now I see what people meant by "frame" episodes.
What was the "shocking incident" she was involved in? Wanna start watching this
1st was the death of her father [ He was stabbed to death She was young, maybe a teenager or even younger when she found his body] 2nd was death of a maid/house keeper 3rd was death of an actress that was her husband's mistress
To see a clip of the movie The Professional in this series made me chuckle. Season 2 was a bit of a bummer compared to season 1, as towards the end it felt very rushed.
how does the vampire charging thing work? doesn't that mean that the human she touches will have a lower life…
It appears that only high level vampires like Jun He and Shi Ya can drain the life force of a human in one sitting. Other Vamps can drain it enough to make the human pass out. I suspect the "life force" can regenerate over time, if the human isn't killed. There might be a better explanation in the web toon that the show is based upon though.
After watching both seasons, I can see why the MDL rating is low. First season was great, but the second season felt rushed the nearer the end you got. But the chemistry between the main leads remained great through out the entire run of the series.
