Question on drama promotions - this drama has had the leads promoting quite a bit, reality shows, lots of photo shoots..is this amount pretty normal or are they just capitalizing on their amazing chemistry? I don't see other dramas doing it this much? For other CPs is this normal?

How are they going to end CZ's story? We know he and HY are not endgame..but somebody has to bring him down right ? Since they have deviated from the novel, he has to give up on his own or die. How does he die without a war? XZ cant just kill him right ?

Grrr...script alteration maybe...but we have them in their wedding attire, so there is hope!

Cheng Lei looks great in it..cant say I like the FL though; will give it a chance for CL!

Episodes 24 and 25 were amazing! For anyone complaining that HY isnt a strategist and this should address that - they have been faithful to a degree with the Rundu part - CZ playing the flute was so comical like he was going to induce the fire with it or something....I liked how ZY's expressions and demeanor are much more serious now, she is hurting, she wants revenge and she is a woman on a mission - it is showing. They did not tell us what XJ said to the emperor, but I think it is the fact that she is a woman and that he loves her. It definitely makes more sense for them to get married first and then have all the battles, I hope they still do that than continuing to have the SML wanting her and obsessing over her.

What I find most annoying is that No means No. HY has expressed many times that she is not interested...but he persists, annoyingly so.

Yes I dont think anybody can speak up against a decree, they would be killed on the spot. Also HY has no power even if she was just promoted. She knows its a ploy and she cannot do anything but bide time.

What is Pingting and that sidekick of his doing? Can they both assist with that?

This is so sad and different from the novel..poor XZ, I'm sure it's CZs doing grrrr..

Heyan's father exposing does not make sense at all, given he himself was involved in killing the daughter. I recall seeing pictures of the grieving mother while the drama was filming..so I am secretly hoping that they will go the way of the novel for the expose. If not ah well...Ill still watch for ZY and CL since they have both acted really well and I want to them to get good scripts and better directors than dumbos like here who toy with a good story that they already have. What a waste! Thanks for much for sharing and discussing, this was fun!

I think the one thing I dont understand with this script is what happens to Rufei and Xu Jingfu and then Pingting. Unless CZ first brings them down with XJ and HY and then does all this nonsense as a reward for exposing traitors. That would be super annoying. I think the way the novel set it up..show him vying for HY, but show that XJ ultimately gets the upper hand, thats what made the novel so compelling..ah we wish!

EEEks - I hope they dont do this and the script somehow changed..will be tragic to have all this happen. However, if the ending is with both leads together (as with all dramas last 1s) you know its some consolation. So far they have not messed with XJ and HY core..so hopefully they will retain some more of it.

I think it was because he wanted ultimate power and a general with power was always feared by ministers so they were always plotting. They can overthrow the King anytime due to they military power.

Yikes, I guess I can see them go this way - with everyone telling He Yan that dont lose the person you love...that would be very unfortunate. BUT, we know there is a wedding scene, so we know that they DO get married..lets see if the leaked script is true or what happens. Either way, I love the leads so whatever happens, I know they will end up together, too much at stake for them not to be!

The part I liked from the episodes today was He Yan's venting with training hard. Nothing like building focus and also trying to investigate the truth however best she can. I also liked that she wanted to tell him herself (by calling him to the river). It is a pity he found out first, otherwise she would have told him anyway. They had to give screen space to the others, its about time since the focus is shifting to the capital and Rundu. If CZ really wanted to save HY, he would have secretly told the emperor; the fact that he does not, makes him unworthy of her and worthy of XZ who will eventually tell the truth to the emperor and get himself a decree to marry her. With CZ playing Pingting, he is just going down an abyss of no return with even attempting to be with HY. I did not hate those scenes where he is plotting away..I think it sets up the conflict just fine. I think they also did away with the crown prince conflict part of the novel since those characters dont feature, so it will end with Xu Jingfu's end in the show, followed by the Wutuo war.
