I am glad the drama is doing so well despite the stars each not having massive fandoms like some of the traffic stars several posts mentioned here. Does show that they have acted well and have embodied the characters well so far!

Honestly, I feel like some people keep watching a drama just to complain. Theres no problem with people not liking…
Agree 100% and also the folks who claim to have read the novel and expect HY to act all rough and tough all the time. Im thinking to myself, did we read the same book???

Episode 16 and 17 were so close to the novel and they captured the essence of those Jiyang moments, the dress selection, the bridge crossing and finally the "I love the moon, the moon does not know". I teared up at the part where she is thinking about being a substitute all her life...it was such a quiet sadness and XJ definitely picks it up...he will remember everything she said when the truth is out...I think they have done an amazing job at capturing these iconic novel moments. CL and ZY have amazing chemistry and screen presence; you cannot look at anyone else but them!

Im still behind this drama but i have a question, I have seen some clips of these new woman especially thai woman…
This was also the author's way of saying (and she does that a lot in the book) that XJ was very handsome, desirable and every woman's fantasy.

The girl has been giving him so many hints about her true identity.Reference to their time at academy(him carrying…
Understandable..however it was so preposterous to even think that a girl could be in the army and in the school training that XJ does not even go in that direction. He remains sus about her past, but there will be episodes coming up where he connects the dots with the help of someone who DOES notice that she is a girl under the mask when they were in school.

Yes agreed, I think if it were single platform, it would have crossed 30,000

I legit cannot focus today; so want to watch the episodes..the previews look like the epic fight sequences from Jiyang..I hope it lives up to how I imagined it to be..the fight sequences have not disappointed so far!

Yes I agree..I dont know how hey are going to show how she gets it back..cause that was largely the conflict in…
I wonder if they will have some scene where Xiao Jue is forced to give it to Rufei and then He Yan will take it back? That would be super cool !

Did he know that she meant him? In the novel, he didn't learn that until much later. I have no idea if they changed…
They did not, he does not know yet.

Watch out girl. Some novel readers might say that this line never existed in the novel and that it weakens the…
OMG I know right? I am super annoyed by so called novel readers who keep saying they dont act like generals..Im like did we read the same novel or what? I think drama has done justice to the iconic moments in the novel, this one included. To each his own

I was told that it's all due to PLOT ARMOUR.... LOL. I still cannot believe the FL didn't at least work out or…
She is described like that in the book too, she was never bulky or muscular.

I’m so disappointed. I’ve read the novel multiple times waiting for the drama but it’s real bad. I dropped…
Are you sure you read the novel? She is described as frail looking there too. As for the other points, she never got so close to anyone else to have noticed, she has scars on her body, in fact the Cheng Lisu finding out her gender sequence shows those clearly. As for taking her shirt off in the hot springs, that is exactly how it was written in the novel too. Totally ok if you don't enjoy it, to each his own, just pointing out that the drama has addressed these things.

And I also loved that they threw in a bit of woman empowerment in there with them being a general and a doctor!

My one and only gripe - better background score, would have elevated it even more. Examples of shows that really excelled at this, the Untamed, love between fairy and devil, goodbye my princess..that last one had a haunting melody that stays with you long after the drama is over.

I think my one gripe is I wish they'd dramatize being a general a little better and more accurately. But this…
You should see this part in the Jiyang water battle - it was all about strategy, planning and winning an almost impossible battle, 10,000 soldiers against 100,000 that too on water. I hope they show it well!

She is doing a terrific job as He Yan, well deserved praise and recognition; I hope she continues to choose her roles well (as she has) and does well!
