Understand..in the novel everyone thought he would die early, but he survives. He also never wanted to join the army, earn merits etc and so resents his cousin for doing all that and the fact that he has to live upto that name, which he never wanted in the first place. That leads to insecurities that he will never be as good as his sister, leading to him killing her.

I really think its unfair to compare any novel with a live action, it can never do complete justice, because of so many factors, budget, time and the writers imagination competing with the 1000s that have their own imagination. There are still people today who say Emma Watson was not the right choice to play Hermione in the HP series because they imagine her to be different than what they read and saw.

Agreed..keeping all those characters would have required them to make a part 1 and Part 2 like they did for Lost you forever I think - there was a lot of detail in the book, and likely not enough budget or time to give this that much. So the changes they made, seem ok to me.

Yes even though he was her cousin, he was beyond ruthless in the novel

Her brother was sick and in a remote village. Nobody had seen him, so the height appearance etc was never in an issue. That is how the novel was written.

I can't think about anything other than watching this drama! So excited to see it unfold and I know ZY and CL are both going to do a great job from all the precursors so far!

Every promo they are releasing is exactly how I imagined the scenes to be..OMG cant wait to watch this unfold. Zhou ye and Cheng Lei are so well matched! Its interesting that they are witholding scenes for the antagonist, its adding to the intrigue, love how they are promoting the drama!

I have a feeling they don't want to clash with Zhang hai Zhuan the big Xiao Zhan drama coming up and may have postponed as a result...painful it is the wait.

Reason to not have the brother is because China does not allow rebirth plots so having that family does not make sense. They also combined Cheng Lisu with Lin Shuanghe and created one character likely to save budget...

Why is that this drama has had 0 promotions? Never mind when it's releasing..I mean there is literally no hype. Great cast, great story and literally everything they have going for it and yet nothing. The production house is asleep.

I know right! It's beyond frustrating that such a talented actress is not doing any new dramas or films yet..I get taking a break, but this is too long of a wait!

100%..I did see some Reuters for that sequence so I'm sure it's there..it's also an important plot point so fingers crossed they don't mess it up!

The wait is painful already :( At least Cheng Lei is working on other dramas..I don't see anything from Zhou Ye..I hope she picks up something soon

Such a great drama, just 3.5 episodes left to go! I've read Rebirth of a Star General by the same author that is being made into a drama called Legend of the Female General (LOFG).lots of similarities..but the one I am looking forward to is the ML and his 2 sidekicks - they were great in the Double and should be great in LOFG as well :)
