You know what will really have people's tops spinning? Let's make a BL version of Business Proposal, My Demon, Lovely Runner, or any of the myriad dramas. Let's select one of the most famous K-dramas and simply turn it gay because that's what everyone is doing with gay dramas these days. So, why not? Let's have fun—or rather, let's create an adaptation. 😭😭😭

Oh, I had overlooked that aspect earlier. I was actually alluding to more significant alterations. Furthermore, Captain Cold's character is not portrayed as gay in The Flash; it’s only in the other series where this depiction occurs. The crux of my argument was that the creators undertook a daring move that initially met with resistance but eventually garnered acceptance. Conversely, this particular show attempted a similar bold strategy but lacked a comprehensive plan to support it, if that makes sense. ( Also i Respect you tell me you didn’t get my point so i could explain more or clarify we need more people like you )

"Indeed, their quality is subpar, and I frequently discuss this issue, which is why I’m not particularly aggrieved about it not being a Boys' Love drama. My indifference stems from a genuine aversion to producers who make such decisions solely to appease a particular demographic.
However, regarding 'The Flash,' there was significant backlash when Iris West and her family were portrayed as Black. A considerable number of viewers initially opposed this casting choice. Nevertheless, many of those detractors eventually came to appreciate her character. This situation exemplifies my point: if you don’t take the initiative to experiment or embrace new ideas, you can never truly foresee the potential outcomes."
Could you please tell us what the message hsroag tryna tell from the original novel? 🥹, Because, weren't you…
Every time I referenced the novel, I was specifically referring to its initial segment. I assumed that common sense was a universally shared trait. At no point have you seen me discuss the events following the protagonist's intended return to his body to assume control of his life. Furthermore, I have already articulated the message once more. Scroll down to locate it; I stated it recently and will not reiterate it, as it appears you deliberately disregard it whenever it is mentioned.
I want them, even if it's just for fun or as an experiment, to do exactly the same thing in the next few months. Let them take a straight novel and make it gay, or completely mess it up in some other way and strip out its original message. That would be hilarious, right? And then they can call it an adaptation. 😭😭 PS:im joking but not at the same time 😭
It's not often we see people asking themselves tough questions like that. Kudos to you The most groundbreaking,…
You believe it was acceptable to alter the main lead's sexuality because it wasn't groundbreaking. However, you overlook that removing the novel's core message of acceptance and perseverance, embodied by the gangster aiding the protagonist in taking control of his life, undermines the story. This transformation was crucial, and by changing his sexuality and motivations, the narrative's integrity is compromised, which is highly disrespectful to the original work.
The bullies had no real reason for their actions, and the show ended with too many loose ends. Now, fans are asking for a season 2, but what would it even be about? The main plot, where the protagonist's go back to his body after it was taken over and he goes after his love interest, and making his life better has been removed. Instead, we’re left with a gangster in his body getting to relive life, which has nothing to do with the original book. The show has completely lost its direction.

Glad you get what I'm saying! You can't always predict international success or success within Korea. Even places less accepting of LGBTQ+ content have had shows hit the top 10. It's like a company launching a product—you won't know if it works unless you try. If you don't put it out there, how can it gain acceptance or recognition.
The censorship missed a crucial opportunity to address a significant issue in Korea: the societal acceptance of LGBTQ+ individuals. This story could have been groundbreaking in Asia, but it was stifled due to anticipated failure. Trying to predict the outcome beforehand often harms the creative product more than helps. Is it justifiable to eliminate a potentially profound narrative that resonates with struggles of identity and societal challenges, in favor of a more action-driven drama? The original story was precisely about navigating life's hardships.(and i mean the ML being gay not the novel being BL)
ok soo of topic but can we all agree that Thailand has gotten to western level of ok with just showing anything like im beign flashed left and right these days 😭 i can prepare myself when i watch something like Shameless i know what im about to see but they bold these days
Here's something that's been perplexing me: why does the industry incessantly claim they won't produce content they foresee as unprofitable, especially given their previous ventures into BL dramas? You can't genuinely prognosticate the success of something unless you take risks and innovate. Nothing will evolve if you don't step out of your comfort zone. So why opt for projects they predict won't sell or that the audience won't appreciate? It seems counterproductive. If they deemed the novel commercially unviable, why select it at all?
The problem with korean bl media is that there’s nothing much to offer other than romance. Plot wise they are…
i feel thats a common issue with any romance drama we already know its just the bl that is the issue with most but i dont really care i just personally believe even if they kept it a bromance our MC was gay and that did cause a lot of his issues i believe would’ve hit different a straight man experiences the difficulties that a gay man experienced thats what this could have been
i love that a week later theres still beef i dont care about the bromance but i think keeping the ML sexuality could really connect alot more in the show
no not even close its only half the took because at this point its not an adaptation but they changed the entire…
why you say this twice and i see no need to as i have been explaining differences on this page im not that pressed about it so i see no need to comment it takes just a couple swipes down to see others and my explanations for my view point i see no need to repeat myself
Was no romance between any; boy or girl. She might had a crush on him but he didntZERO romance.
the scenes they wasted on a random girl could have been used to fix the plot holes in the show and not rush to make everything conclusive on ep 8 because it felt like they were jumping all over the place it felt disconnected almost
you seriously don't see difference between 47 year old in the teen's body and teen girl? okay, lol, and bromance…
no i dont see the point in this response as you didn’t even make a argument you emphasize my statement even more by blindly proving my point you see an issue with this but not the other way around and if they didnt even change the story tbw the 47yo man wouldn’t even be a topic of convo so......?
