They gave us a few hints during their first meeting, doctor's overprotectivness towards the FL and a harsh way she treats all men around the FL... if the story doesn't provide any romantic matching hints for her, we should just take for granted her different interest in FL

if you rewatch ep 3, min 39', you'll hear a distinct dàrén (大人) which is used in costume/historical setting to indicate a person of high status or occupation, it's a title of respect as "excellency", "lordship" and similar in English. I'm not a Mandarin speaker but have seen enough costume drama to distinguish this term and think it would be disrespectful to use it with reference to the emperor. Those killers weren't sent by the emperor but by someone else with high status but inferior to the emperor. Ofc., we cannot know at this point if that dàrén acts according to the emperor's wishes/orders or against them. We've only seen Susha court till now.
