I don't understand this international viewers complaining about this drama. They be telling "cliche trope, basic, low quality etc." Hunny, who told you it's gonna be a banger kdrama with big budgeted production? It's obviously a small production and the main focus of this drama is romance and meeting you first love once again. It's not for people who like complex characters and plot with 1,000 subplots.

So far, koreans are loving this drama since the ratings are better compared to what I expected. Hopefully it will go higher in the next eps especially 2024 Olympics is coming, the drama might get affected.

it's normal for her age to accept teen romance drama. But her next drama after this is a comic-action and investigative genre. She'll be playing an ex- gold medalist turned into a police officer. It will be available on November or December.

I don't know who's "kim" are you referring to. And I really hate this comment always comparing her to another actress. I really love both girls and i can say they both have their own shining moments as an actress. Yes, Sohyun is not picky but it doesn't mean she's choosing quantity over quality. In fact I always love her drama choices since mostly her dramas are those many people enjoyed and appropriate for her age. Coz what I noticed other actresses like to do dramas that are not suitable for their age and many people infantalized them, and I'm glad Sohyun did not do that kind of drama. She's still young and i know she can do and try many things now that she's an adult.

School 2015 is Sohyun's breakout drama and her popularity skyrocketed and she's so young at that time. Then another school drama which is Love Alarm that boosted her popularity outside korea. Then she had Tale of Nukdo and River which I think a very decent dramas of her. At such a young age, I don't think her drama choices are bad knowing those dramas that I mentioned are popular and until now many people remembered her in those dramas especially her character in Love Alarm (lol).

And I agree that Sohyun is not at her peak right now and that's normal. Actresses experience inconsistency in their career atleast once. Even actor Kim Soohyun had experienced drama slump in his career despite his high status in the industry. Actress Song Hye Kyo was in a slump too before accepting The Glory. Even the popular actresses right now had a hard times in their career before reaching their breakthrough. Let's say for example Kim Hyeyoon, after doing Extraordinary You, her next projects didn't go well too and she was clearly bashed in Snowdrop not until Lovely Runner. Even Kim Jiwon, Kim Yoojung and Shin Ye Eun. Everyone experienced crisis in their career so it's not impossible to Sohyun too.

What I want to tell is it's not always rainbows and butterflies. Sohyun is still young and I'm sure there are tons of opportunities that awaits her. Hopefully Good Boy will be "that drama" that we're waiting for. It's time for her to bring back her 2016-2016 popularity 😔

TVING is not that bad. They're very promising tho. Mostly their popular dramas were actually the dramas that have amazing storyline based on what i observed and not just rely on hype or popular casts. So if Dear X will be executed well, it might get the popularity too. But as what you have said, it's not as wide and accessible like Netflix.

the ending was not clear for me. tbh i was confused whether they continue dating or not. But it's a happy ending since they achieved 'liberation'

Sohyun might not be trendy right now but she's been carrying her shows since her teenage years despite being paired with rookies and not so popular male leads. And FYI, Sohyun is a bigger artist in Korea. She already proved it when she was nominated at Baeksang! And it's not her fault if the drama has messy script. What do you mean he'll be carrying the drama alone ? No offense too but he is still yet to prove himself in the industry.

Sohyun will never be a reliable actress just to discredit her hardwork. Despite her being paired with rookie actors, not just once but multiple times, saving the "almost cancelled drama" just because of the ML bullying scandal and even saving a not well-written script and low budgeted production. No one can do it like her.

Im so skeptical about the director tho he directed some of the high rated kdrama before, Jirisan was clearly bashed because of the way it was directed and the CGI of that drama was very obvious. And it was announced that it will be a partial adaptation so I'm a lil bit worried. What if they'll be taking full romance with melo on the side or just full thriller. For me, it's good if it will be full thriller with no romance. I'm not really a fan of YJ but i want to see her in this kind of genre.

Among the three ML, Kim Do Hoon is the best when it comes to acting. No doubt. I've seen him act both romance and non-romance dramas and he surely delivers! I don't know why until now he is not getting main lead role.

I was so surprised when he was casted in this drama and i finally have the reason to watch this drama.

i feel like the director or producer of this drama is lurking on twitter haha. coz i can't believe that fans' manifestations were all came true. from the FL to Hwang Inyoup being casted even though it's a special appearance. I hope it'll be good. Can't wait for this drama 😍

This is my primary thought also knowing Netflix and JTBC have some sort of contract to allow NF to stream JTBC dramas. But the production company of Good Boy is also the one that produced Moving which was aired on Disney+ hence the possibility of this drama to be aired on D+ which is not a good thing for me since I prefer it on NF for wider audience and the genre of this drama should be on NF. *sobs*
Anyways, let's hope for the best of this drama. Hopefully, it will be a hit like Moving

She had good chemistry with her male leads (may it be male lead or the second lead ) that's why you can't help but to ship her with both men. Not anyone can pull off second lead syndrome unless the actress can connect well with her costars. The fact that it gives you second lead syndrome means she's doing a good job.

Omg it's the opposite for me. I actually like her doing this kind of role since it suits her. Portraying the same role does not really matter for me as long as the personality of each role is different.
Anyways, this drama was filmed ages ago and can't wait to see her as an athlete-turned-police officer in Good Boy alongside Park Bo Gum. If you want to see her play a different role, go check it out this November
