WHY AM I HEARING JI CHANG WOOK DIDNT WIN AN AWARD FOR THIS SHOW?????
Baeksang is my last hope and nobody deserves it more than him.
On The Worst of Evil Jan 16, 2024
Brilliant! Deserves 9+ ratings. And JCW deserves a Baeksang for this performance. That guy totally killed it, and so did the whole cast. Masterpiece in acting and story telling.

I just wanna see bang eunju actually do what she said she attempted in the beginning. Go on girl! After the public…
At this point she’s tried two or three projects and failed miserably in all of them. She was fired from the first project cause she couldn’t use autofocus and overworked her ADs and models who eventually walked away, had no theme/concept in the second one leading to fight with her ADs in the second one, so she switched to stolen concept of capturing retro vibe of Samdalri, but got chased out by SD’s fam and friends from there too. How can someone be so incompetent and so delusional to think that her mentor was robbing her off of the opportunities is beyond me. I know some jealous and spiteful souls like her who just love to blame others for their lack of skills and inferiority complex.

It might go up a bit once it finishes? Some users (like me), might wait to rate it until it's over. It's possible!…
Hopefully, I hope lots of people binge watch it in the last week and give good ratings.

I feel separation between main leads is coming in future😅
I think this time SD will follow him to support his dreams. It will be a nice parallel. Also, she is a photographer and Switzerland is a dream destiny for photographers too, so I am not too worried.

Title Welcome to Samdal-ri Spoiler
I like the way they ended Sangdo’s track making him realize that confessing despite knowing that there’s no chance is selfish and will only make the FL guilty and ruin their friendship. Appreciate how they decided to preserve their long term friendship instead.
In fact, I like the way they handled second lead trope in this drama. YP was very mature about the whole thing and he was so confident about his feelings that a love rival never really bothered him. He even told Sangdo that he doesn’t need his permission to like FL and at times even empathizes with Sangdo (unlike other k-dramas where there’s always a ML jealousy track and ridiculous rivalry between best friends).

#WelcomeToSamdalri takes no. 1 spot on both Netflix Korea and TVing~
Also, double digit ratings, solely due to the love of the viewers.
The journey from calling it underrated to the most loved makes me cry a bucket. 🥹❤️

The only thing I hated was the last episode. They could have worked on giving the characters proper closure instead…
Same. For me the last episode doesn’t exist.

Is it worth watching? And from which part?
This one keeps on getting better with each episode. Unlike other dramas that fall flat towards the middle, this one really picked up after 5-6 episodes (although I did enjoy everything from episode 3). I never skipped any scenes except Sangdo, but even the second lead trope is handled very maturely. Friendship and relationships are the best part of this drama. My comfort show.

I really hope this drops soon
JCW is filming bulk till June and also shooting for revolver, releasing his second song, doing fan meeting in Japan, and performing “The days” musical in theaters. So, they will probably start filming this in July/August. They are yet to finalize the leading lady and the full cast, so I don’t think this will drop until December or early next year.

We finally got double digit domestic ratings: 10.068% in South Korea, 10.79% in Seoul. The show made it to top 6 non-english shows globally on Netflix and is on top 10 in 34+ countries, despite poor (non-existent) promotions. This show became popular organically, solely due to word of mouth of viewers. A lot of people who were waiting till the end to binge watch are finally catching up and the reviews are immensely positive on all social media platforms be it tiktok, instagram, reddit, or X. Happy that this baby is finally receiving the much deserved recognition and appreciation. I don’t normally stick till the end of a drama without skipping any scenes, but with this one I have rewatched all the episodes and some scenes multiple times. Rating should definitely be 9/10, but again MDL has always been this way.

JCW deserves an oscar for that one scene alone

WHY WOULD THEY WASTE A WHOLE LAST EPISODE ON THE TWO CHARACTERS WE DONT GIVE A FUCK ABOUT RATHER THAN ACTUALLY…
Yep, everything except the last episode made sense. I do find the Rin Yi a bit annoying cause she never tries to hear kyung joon’s perspective, always dismisses his opinions and stubbornly sticks to her principles. So many problems in their relationship despite appearing the sweetest and most unproblematic at first. I wish they would have explored their angst further and given them a proper closure (even if it’s a breakup) instead of adding a whole new side story in the last episode.

this is like my comfort show except I've never watched it. i keep going back for clips on yt but didnt actually…
It’s so good. I even started liking the interview format that put me off at first. Everything except the last episode is so good.

This was one of the first shows for me and decided to re-watch it. Discovered that there are so many beloved actors…
I almost never rewatch any dramas or movies but I rewatched this one.

Never ever trust MDL rating, this is such a underrated gem
Joined MDL recently and I find this space very negative. People here get mad that leads didn’t handle things the way they would have (which can vary from person to person) instead of trying to look at things from the writer and character’s pov. This drama is truly a hidden gem.

The last episode wasn't necessary & it's the best work of Ji chang wook as Park Jae Won. Refreshingly beautiful…
The only thing I hated was the last episode. They could have worked on giving the characters proper closure instead of adding the cop’s romance (despite him being a sweetheart and eye candy). But, easily one of my comfort dramas.
On Lovestruck in the City Jan 14, 2024
Have already watched it twice in a week. It’s so lighthearted and fluttering, doesn’t have any k-drama cliches. Flawed but real characters make it very relatable.

Exactly what I said. The interview format was new to me so I skipped it at first, but now I even enjoy the interview setting.
This series was so good and so underrated. Another series with interview setting that I almost skipped, ended up absolutely loving is ” What We Do in the Shadows“ a hollywood series which is super hilarious.
