Dang, what the hell are award shows based on these days? There were so many better dramas and leads than this one in 2023, but they gave all awards to this drama. 😮‍💨 I didn’t know that k-drama awards are all about favoritism.

Lol, he is a versatile actor and can act according to the demand of the script. He isn’t a loser in this series. He is the best in his field work wise and knows how to protect his loved ones. It’s sad that characters like this are considered losers when they are what many strive to find in their real life. You should just stick to bad boy dramas.

I don’t think that’s true Samdalri has been no. 1 in it’s slot (despite being aired on a less popular channel) and it’s ratings are way better than other dramas like My Demon which is aired on SBS.

Honestly, I love this way more than My Demon which I dropped midway, cause too many fillers. This story is better than Home town and I don’t find it slow at all, but yes no mystery or dramatic plot twist, so it really depends on your taste.

So disappointed that Ji Chang Wook didn’t win any APAN awards for his performance in this series.

Oh it’s awesome! My favorite in 2023z But if you haven’t started yet, binge watch it after they release all the episodes.

It’s my favorite drama of 2023, but it really depends on whether you like simple slice of life dramas or not. Don’t watch it if you like dramatic storyline and multiple plot twists. This one is pretty relaxing, but not slow. The story is quite gripping and sweet too.

Yeah, I want 10 seasons of this drama like ‘friends’ lol. I am already sad that this drama will end in 4 weeks. Ugh, the crush I have on Yong Pil. How will any man live up to that? 😭

Usually love triangle leads to weird animosity and competition between the Male leads, but in this one it was handled so mature and realistically. Loved the way Yong Pil responded to Sang do. I guess it’s also because they were childhood friends and doesn’t make sense to break their friendship over a girl in their late 30s. These two guys love each other dearly.

Much better than Home town cha cha cha cause it had a few filler episodes that I had to fast forward, but haven’t done that with this series. The storyline is also better. Definitely deserves more popularity and praise.

Why did it just occur to me that Sam Dal’s mom is the Healer Ajumma? Maybe cause her getup and role in Healer was completely different and batshit crazy lol. Damn, it’s a reunion. I really enjoy her interactions with JCW in both dramas.

Okay, how am I supposed to wait until next week after that ending? I can’t stop thinking about it. 😭
To those who are waiting for the series to wrap up first to binge watch in one go: Good decision people! Y’all will be the happiest ones in the planet. I am so jealous of y’all already. 😅

Yep, Samdal’s downfall was more of an excuse to bring her back to her hometown, but the central plot actually revolves around Yong Pil, his love, his dream, his bonds and sacrifice etc. Plus, usually in slice of life dramas, the stories of side characters are also quite gripping. I am not watching it just for the main leads, but also the people around them and their character development.

She is one stubborn and independent character. Hope this incident knocks some common sense into her thick skull. Some people tend to stretch it out until something bad happens. Although, they will probably show that going to the water was the idea of some other ladies.

I think Yong Pil’s character does get more weight than the FL though. If you go back you can see how his character is more fleshed out than the FL’s. He doesn’t need to out loud admit what his dream/ ambition is, cause it’s been shown in his interactions with almost all the characters (although he did admit his dream was to protect his mom and Samdal in previous episodes). Of all the characters only Yong Pil’s bonds are explored to such extent be it with Samdal’s mom, his dad, his two friends or Sam do. And as for the FL’s narration, maybe it’s because her mom’s heart condition and drowning were the main focus of this episode.

In contrast, I love the pace of this drama and how realistic it is. I think it was pretty obvious that he is a weather forecaster who loves his job and life in his hometown from the beginning. His character revolves around nurturing and protecting the people around him and his acting and expressions are on point. This isn’t a genre with big dramatic storytelling and multiple plot twists. It’s a simple and subtle storytelling and I like how well it’s been portrayed so far exploring each characters and their relationships and the contrasts in the characters of ML and FL.

People were complaining about how Yong Pil in his late 30s has nothing going on except pining over his ex. No career, no big dreams etc etc. I hope they got to see his pov now. Not all dreams have to be ambitious. When you are young, you dream of a successful career, big house, extravagant life, etc., but as you grow older you realize the beauty of simple and ordinary life. A peaceful life in a countryside surrounded by loved ones and a stable job is what I crave for the most, after living abroad for 7 years and getting a degree from a prestigious university. Yong Pil is doing what he loves (weather forecasting) and protecting the people around him in the best way he can. What’s wrong with that?
