Could anyone please advise me on whether this series is worth starting? I’m starting to tire of the high school/university…
If you watch Japanese idol anime like Love Live or Idolish7, it's kinda like that but with a love line. Can't say there's any BL that's directly similar. But in terms of themes I think it has similaries to Perfect Propose/Not Me in that the antagonist is capitalism and there's focus on found family/bonds, but approached in a more heartwarming tone.
LYKN just released a dance performance video for Would You Mind (aka. the stolen song from Ep7) if anyone wants to check it out! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pQcLUCLavO0
i’m on episode 11 and suddenly some things stopped making sense..? (probably my fault for keeping watching last…
Thame is an idealist and naive in love - this is long established in the previous episodes. He does feel bad for Pepper, but his response to PepperGam breakup isn't "I'm gonna breakup with Po", it's to hold Po even closer and become even more determined to make it through. Yes, he knows they might be found out too, but he doesn't care and wants Po (and his career) no matter what.
Po was looking sad and already contemplating breaking up after Gam broke up with Pepper. . Gam was saying it was her way of helping Pepper, so seeing his and Thame's relationship in theirs, he wonders if doing the same will help, too. That's why Thame was holding his hand in public and telling him "I love you" at the end of Ep10; he was trying to reassure Po that they will be alright and he won't let go. But the final nail in the coffin in Po's decision isn't the CEO, but Pepper saying that his members "won't let him be sad", so Po believes that Thame will be okay even after the breakup.
Well going against the company you work for and doing things that could hurt the company can and probably will…
Agreed, it's like that because nobody wants to see the whole process. It's boring and not relevant to the storyline. The only thing we have to know is that he was fired.
I hope one day Nut gets his own BL series! He's such a great actor!
I doubt it because William did not receive a good response from fans when he decided to act in a BL. Nut is often shipped with Hong so those shipper fans will flip if he's paired with someone outside the group, and NutHong will not happen because it will only jeopardise the group dynamics.
Don't get me wrong, it was a pretty good episode. I just feel like it was just stretched to make it a 13 episodes…
Well yes, all the previous episode deliberately end on a satisfying note. This one doesn't (it ends on their "preparation" to save Thame) to hype you up for the finale, which is going to be their actual "heist". It's like a cliffhanger. Very intentional TV writing.
Is there a side couple here ? I don't know if I should start it or not : I can get bored easily when there's only…
It's hard to answer your question as the story also focuses heavily on the friendship between Thame and his groupmates and not only the romance between Thame and Po. There is a love triangle mini-arc that gets resolved pretty quickly and one of the groupmates is in an established relationship with a woman, so I wouldn't call it a proper side couple love line.
i still think jun had feelings for pomy poor man got side lined 😭
He does. It should already be obvious to the viewer but Est also confirmed it in an interview today. But it's ok, he chose to back off because he values his friendship with Thame more than his feelings. Now he gets both of them as his friends.
I get what you mean though.. but I dont like it. She manipulated everyone especially Po who was already an easy…
He actually explained that he knew during the rooftop scene. Thame knows it as well. It didn't change anything, though. No matter how much Thame reassured him, he'd still have to live with the guilt.
No matter what, I don't think Po could've lived on happily with Thame knowing that PepperGam were sacrificed in exchange for their happiness. He'd be riddled with guilt every day, so I think this breakup was a way to vindicate himself from it. It wasn't only for Thame's sake, but also had to do with the rest of MARS' happiness and his own guilt.
I feel like we need a freaking petition at this point, especially when some otherwise fantastic directors are…
It's not a "copout" when it's been built up since episode 1 - that Po wants to know how it feels to be the one who "leaves". And in this episode, he experiences it for himself. We know it happens not because of cliches but because it's the natural progression of our main character's journey.
Last Twilight's breakup conflict did feel like a copout, though. Introducing new conflict and having a breakup isn't inherently BAD , but said conflict wasn't properly explored nor resolved by the end - that's why it felt "cheap" to many.
Boy gets caught in paparazzi cam and is still holding Po's hand out in the open 🥹 baby please no
I think he just doesn't care that much. He's being very naively optimistic, though, and underestimates the impact it will have on Po. Especially in Kpop where both homophobia and dating ban is much, much more severe than Thailand.
if anyone wants to check it out!
